Sounds Like
A soundtrack to the daydreams and nightmares of a lonely, introverted six-year-old boy that never grew up.
Shazbot is my alias for producing electronic music, both in studio and in live shows. I write soundtracks for the daydreams and nightmares of the lonely six-year-old boy that lives inside my head. Parts of me have never grown up.
I've been making tracks and playing shows both locally and internationally for about seven years now. I've played all sorts of shows: local battles-of-the-bands and other concerts, house parties, friends' weddings, marathon roadside entertainment, Ukrainian raves. No, I'm not making this up.
I've also gotten semi-regular airplay and DJ support on several internet radio stations, most notably Bassdrive.com, one of the central hubs of the global drum and bass community.
A note about the music store: The music store on this page is just here if you want to support my habit. It contains nearly my entire catalogue, including a few tracks that I made as soundtracks for video projects for myself or others. With those few exceptions, every track in the store was, at one time, available for free download, and I try to keep the player up top stocked with as many free downloads as they allow. I make exactly $1.00 off each track you buy, and if every one of my fans buys the entire catalogue, my music will still have cost me more than I've made from it (in strictly monetary terms, anyway). So don't think I'm selling out! I strongly support free digital distribution of recorded music, and I hope that if you like my work, you will choose to spend money on it in an amount of your choosing so that I can keep making more. For full-length streams of all my tracks, check me out on Facebook!

If you are a musician or are involved in the industry, I welcome your criticisms and comments. I compose in a nearly total vacuum from outside musical influence, and I am quite starved for ways to improve.
Recently Played Tracks (via Audioscrobbler and Last.FM):
Matt Morton's new album DREAM is a motley crew so to speak of different styles of sonic influence. Each of the seven tracks' music and lyrics were written by the artist and their topics range from exuberant joy in "The Love Dance," to deepest sorrow and heartfelt anguish with a reminder of hope in "All My Heart." Love and philosophy also get their time in the spotlight as well as a song that soothes spirits from the wariness of the days behind us.
At the helm of the cd was producer Antjuan Robinson, a former bass tech for the late, great, Wayman Tisdale. It is his virtuoso bass playing and wonderful ability see things that were not and make them come to life that helped this become the masterpiece of sonic stimulation that it is.
Also assisting Matthew are the amazing vocalists, Taylor Clenney, Roger Jaeger, and Derick Snow. Each of these men have fought through the haze of their respective scenes with perseverance and determination and emerged incredibly talented and admonished. Their vocal prints are beautiful paintings and are sure to become fan favorites in no time at all.

In the last two months, Matthew has been hard at work with his long time friend Nathan Scott and Scott's brother-in-law Bobby Rankin, forming a band named Cerulean Sunset. The band promises to bring the songs of DREAM and many more to life in the near future so keep your ears open, because this is a band that is NOT going to settle for anything less than an incredible show and experience!

Hey, hope all is well! Stop by the page and check out the newest Mindstorm tunes "Midnight Rush" and "Gamer's Delight" recently added to the player when you get a chance.
"Midnight Rush" has a more Brookes Brothers/Futurebound vibe while "Gamer's Delight" is just full-blown dirty analog bliss. Leave some love if you like what you hear, it's always appreciated. Big up!
