Finding there was nothing left of the forest and all the music fairies already dead from exposure, the sheBear, like Odysseus, left her former sanctuary with just a knapsack and the scrap of hope she kept hidden under her headphones.
sheBear wandered for many years, searching for a remnant of the music that had once brought magic to the forest. On her travels, she caught an occasional note, hung on a phrase or moment which made her heart soar and took some of the sting out of the loneliness of her nomadic life. Although it was harder to find, the music was still there; often hidden, ignored or passed over in a world that had actively destroyed the forest.
sheBear found us. One evening, tired and hungry, her fur matted and the brightness of her eyes dimmed, she came to our door and asked to sit with us for a moment beside the fire. She was exhausted from her wanderings and needed a place to rest. We welcomed our weary traveller, listened to her tales of the great forest, the music fairies and how the magic was still to be found in our brutal times. sheBear let us listen to the music she’d collected in her headphones, the vitality returning to her face and she insisted it was time to form a label so others could know there was more.
We listened, we learned, and we knew it to be good.
Welcome to sheBear.
