Born as a product of an interracial marrage, Martin Purtill was graced with life on the dew-filled morning of the 28th, April, around the middle of the wall street hype. Given love through life that his mother and father lived, he swam in the sea of love. The sea of sound and harmony. never having struggle or hardship in his young life, he was blessed with waves of sound pouring in from his father's life. Like a sponge he soaked up the strings and the brass and danced with it all. Singing couldn't have been easier for this youngest of three, his voice carrying only one phrase when he can recall his first singing endeavor, "Ba la la la labamba!" he screamed out for 2 hours as his fathers VW van struggled to climb the pass to Tahoe. Growing up with small town love he was graced with new ideas and passion for music through extended family. forming the well known local band All the Wrong People in late 1999 w/ longtime friend and hetrosexual life partner Lee Madeloni, he gained the ability to perfect his craft. Never believing in knowing "the everything," Martin is constantly looking for new paths of light, new openings to the high of sound. With nothing but his heart, he gives to the world (with the help of this wonder"myspace") his life, truth, and his reality. Knowing him is as simple as knowing his music, living life with each day because that's as fast or slow as we CAN live. Martin Purtill sings life in his songs and truth through his words. His purpose is to spread nothing but what we all deep inside feel and crave: LOVE. Giving is more than having, and he gives to you his music. Music to have when happy, hurt, alone, inspired, or just when you want to give the love to many more. Listen to what he brings to us and he will bring more when life has been lived... peace and love
