my name is joshua. so what. what am i? insecure. spirit and hope personified, all and nothing. searching and seeking to be understood, at least a bit. a sometimes poet. guitarist, voice and inflated ego of the band of brains called velvet kente. she made my life beautifully strange. i am called iyasu by a few, two of them being myselves...my number is 10...my addictions are music, photography, and black women, none of which i profess to completely understand or nurture in the same manner in which they have nurtured and or tried to understand me. my mother's love makes me feel like a failure sometimes, it expects so much of me, i fear that i will never be all that i seem or dream...i am however, constantly evolving and learning. i smile and laugh out loud more than my father ever did. i am blessed. i am loved. and there are souls intertwined with mine that recognize my shortcomings and faults and are patiently and impatiently waiting for me to be more. what valid complaints does my life warrant?
