This is me playing with bury blues band CULLEN BLUE mid summer 07. i met the guys two days before for the first time. we were in cornwall staying with cornish blues trio BLUE ON BLACK. this is the second gig i did with them,a full on dep!! we all got on like a house on fire and had a fantastic time. Top weekend !! i am working on recording more gigs but for now this is the only one i have!! (sorry)
Ive been playing in bands now for about 12 years or so since leaving RCAT with two music diplomas. my first gigging experience was being tossed right in the deep end with local blues legend FRANK WHITE. it was the best experience any young musician could ask for! i went on to join him on tours round the uk and the man never let up,he really knew how to work a band night after night, and i loved every minute of it!! i met some amazing people along the way who i learned a great deal from on how to be the best i can be and its carried me through to this very day. just one of those people was PETE RAY BIGGIN drummer with MARK RONSON and AMY WINEHOUSE plus many others. he was and always will be one of the best drummers ive ever known and i learned a hell of a lot from him,so much so that pete was the guy i replaced on drums with frank white when he left to live in london." thanks for all the good times man you were my best friend and my idol(though i couldnt possibly tell you that at the time!!) oh, and thanks for the chicago shuffle!!"
since then ive been playing with the steve french band,in the years weve been together we must have clocked up well over 1,500 gigs around the country playing blues and its been a blast(most or the time) i am also called upon to do alot of depts with such bands as THE SHARP CUTS rock and roll band, KRIS KELLY country star,THE ACOUSTIC ANGELS sheffields finest covers band,THE ROBBIN HOARE BAND blues, leeds solo artst TERRI SHALTIEL and recently a string of holiday camps around the counrty with soul/motown monsters E-MACULATE to name but a few. ive also clocked up more than my fair share of studio time with various people.
my first love is playing the drums but my other passion is singing and writing my own songs(which will be on my site for all to here pretty soon) in fact i did a years stint as backing vocalist for sheffields atlantic recording artists BOY ON A DOLPHIN. that was something else. in that year i was lucky enough to perform at A SOLD OUT SHEFFIELD CITY HALL,the wonderfull RONNIE SCOTTS in london and numerous large festivals.
