If Miles Davis was still doin it(lol).Miles Davis Trips are geared toward what he liked.I've read his autobiography,took direction from that.There are covers recorded of artists he didn't have the opportunity to work with James Brown;Parliment/Funkadelic;as well as Rick James.If anyone remembers the 80's group " Kajagoogoo ",thier hit " Tooo Shy "(the bridge) is also a featured cover in Miles' style.
Miles Davis has been a strong influence on the 'direction' of my career.His autobiography infuenced a series of changes to my entire approach of musical expression.Sheetz of Sound is:" A Miles Davis Trip" initiated from an (seemingly)unlikely source.It was a goal of mine to contribute something in return for what i've learned,but never knew 'how'untill several years ago.
My method is unconventional,i'm " nOt " a tumpet player,i'm using horn sounds on a keyboard.Theres a " secret formula " used to achieve " The Miles Tone ",from years of listening to his records.My mom told me " The 1st music i took to as a baby was Bitches Brew ".I have no formal training,self-taught,90% of the solos are improvised on the 1st take;through a process of " intuitive discovery ".
I don't consider myself " a musician ",just a producer whos gift is to Cre8 Mood.<
