| General | Playing music: keys/guitar/fiddle/mandolin. I am a singing junky and whore myself out as a karaoke host weekly.
Pronounce it like this: KA-RA-OH-KEH. Yes and the RA syllable is spoken with a tapped 'R' so it sounds kind of like a soft "L". Got it? It is one of those Japanese words, SEE? We learnt somethin' new!
Speaking of which, I study the Japanese language here and there, though no, I am not all that good at it.
I am a computer dork, full-time in my mild-mannered day gig, except I dig the Mac stuff and Open Source stuff over that Microsoft junk. Microsoft excites me less than an old tube sock, and that isn't saying very much -- DUH! Don't get me started about the Zune.
I also love goofing off at my various local establishments and drinking good, expensive beer... except that expensive beer is...well... expensive... CHEERS!
As far as sports go, I dig all-girl roller derby, paintball and still have a lingering affinity to my history in BMX ;-) | | Music | TMBG, Cornelius, Uncle Earl, The Cars, Alice Cooper, eX-Girl, All the crap from the 80s, Tom Petty, David Bowie, Tenacious D, Karsh Kale, The Coctails, William Shatner, The Sadies, Kinks, Soul Asylum, Cibo Mato, Cheap Trick, Judas Priest, BoDeans, Mellencamp, Abigail Washburn, Some Ramones, Lots of 70s pop crap (the cheesier the better!) Getting more into old-timey, bluegrass, alt-country and traditional music from my studies, such as Tenneva Ramblers, Foghorn, Pine Box Boys, Peter Rowan, Skillet Lickers, Bill Monroe, not to mention also the influence of Steve Rosen. I will just keep adding as I get to it... | | Movies | Current: Casino Royale, Borat--of course!!! Talladega Nights, A Scanner Darkly, Super Ex-Girlfriend, Clerks II!
Faves: Anything by Hayao Myazaki and Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, etc...) Mad Max, BladeRunner, The Star Wars series, All the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies, Indy Jones and James Bond fare... I love much of the Kevin Smith stuff. Funny stuff includes Wedding Crashers, Wedding Singer (heh) Baseketball, Trading Places, Office Space, Better Off Dead and the like... I'm into Japanese movies, from Tampopo, to any of the Kurosawa films, and plenty of anime... If I remember anything else, I will post... | | Television | Futurama!!! The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill. I watch Smallville (hence the Lex/Halloween getup.) Clerks animated series... STILL very fond of Kids in the Hall. Loved Arrested Development. Hmm, Futurama, Arrested Dev... Fox licks donkey balls!
