Interests

  • General

Genealogy (no, that's an obsession). All things Irish. Travel, anywhere, anytime. Restoring old houses. Cats. Oh, and writing. All the time. When I'm not reading.

    And I love old cemeteries.

  • Music

Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. The Dixie Chicks. Lots of renaissance music. Road music: the Rolling Stones, Springsteen.
  • Movies

Robin and Marian. The Commitments. Rocky Horror Picture Show (that'll get me in trouble, right?). Jurassic Park.
  • Television

Lots. Come on, you culture snobs--I made it through Harvard while watching plenty of series. Now: TrueBlood!
  • Books

Too many to mention, but they number in the thousands.

About me:

Update time again! Sheila's Orchard Mystery series was renewed, for a total of six books. The second in the series, ROTTEN TO THE CORE, will be out in July. Find out why someone who lobbies for organic purity ends up poisoned by a pesticide.

Sarah's third book, SNAKE IN THE GLASS, is coming in September. Is the body found in the Arizona desert just another illegal who sneaked across the border, or someone else?

I love being a writer! Mystery writers are great people to party with, so I'm really looking forward to Malice Domestic in May (where Sarah's first book, THROUGH A GLASS, DEADLY, has been nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Novel), and Bouchercon in October.

For more details, please go to: my website website or Sarah Atwell's site website

And you can sign up for my newsletter there. Or should I say "our" newsletter? Being two people gets confusing!

Who I'd like to meet:

Eleanore of Aquitaine. Dorothy L. Sayers. Oops, they're dead.

Recently at a conference I fulfilled a long-time goal of meeting writer John Connolly (no relation--but we share a shelf in a lot of bookstores). Nevada Barr is still on the list, too.
