About me: Sheila Lord is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from Southend in Essex. In June 2008, her band 'Sheila and the Shy' were selected from over 2000 unsigned artists to perform at a major UK summer festival along with The Enemy, The Cribs, The Wombats, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Joe Lean And The Jin Jan Jong, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip and get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly.

When they returned from the festival, Sheila discovered she'd been selected to be one of the subjects of a year long documentary made by Channel 4 called YEAR DOT.
For one year, Sheila & her band will be filmed as they rehearse, gig & record. For 365 days, the real life drama of all the ups & downs of life in a band will documented and screened via TV and the Internet. Filming began on June 30th & the first show is broadcast in the Autumn. Find out more at
