    Sheldon S. Higdon's Interests
MusicI'm always listening to the Misfits, Ramones, Clash, Johnny Cash, Slayer, Gwar, Social Distortion, Godsmack, anything fifties, and doo-wop.
MoviesAt any given time I'm either buying or watching horror, suspense, mystery, and the occasional comedy. But horror--in all of its crimson glory--rules my movie collection, which includes exploitation films, 80's slasher films, 50's sci-fi, and Hammer films with the added B-movie and cult film thrown into the mix.
TelevisionAll hail Garth Marenghi's Darkplace!!!
BooksAnything by Brian Keene, Edgar Allan Poe (my favorite), Stephen King (of course), Jack Ketchum, Tom Piccirilli, Christopher Moore, Bentley Little, Emily Dickinson, Chris Kuzneski, Nathaniel Hawthorne, D.H. Lawrence, Charles Dickins, David Wellington, Fangoria, Rue Morgue, Shroud Magazine and so many more.
HeroesEdgar Allan Poe, Bettie Page, Spider-Man, Frank Frazetta, R. Crumb, Dolemite, Robert Williams (artist/painter), and Vampira.

***CURRENT PROJECTS***

I'm making notes and doing research for my first novel. Once I begin writing I'll add humorous, serious, informative, and weird blogs to detail the process. Title and plot details will be revealed when the first draft is finished.

A short script entitled, "Surprise!", is in development with an independent filmmaker which will begin production in Los Angeles in 2009.

A comic book that I've written is currently being illustrated. (Will reveal the title and plot details when it's complete.)

***FILM WORK***

Believe it or not, I've been in films!

I've worked and had screen time ("face time") in films such as:

"Adventureland" (Coming Soon) Directed by Greg Mottola, the guy who brought you "Superbad". I have plenty of face time in this one.

As well as "Wonder Boys", "The Temptations", and "Inspector Gadget"

***PAST PUBLICATIONS/CONTESTS***

I've had five short stories published in a now defunct Pittsburgh magazine and have 'placed' two of my short screenplays ("The Unfortunate" and "Conundrum") in two screenwriting competitions in Los Angeles.
