Hey. I just read a horror book that was pretty darn good for a first book. THE WOLFMAN by Nicholas Pekearo. The style throws you off at first, than you realise it's gritty old school. Like the first werewolf stories.
I think it would make a helluva guy flick if they kept it true to the voice of the author, right from the get go. Sadly, the author was a volunteer NY cop who was gunned down along with his partner. Far as I know, this was his only completed work, and this guy had a true talent. What a waste.
If you know any guys who are looking for a good old school werewolf story,and i do mean OLD SCHOOL this is their book. A hero who isn't heroic, but scarily realistic in his choices.
I have no idea why I picked it up. It' not what I read at all (no HEA porn in it, lol). It just drew me, and then I got sucked in.

This Canyon's allure is the blue-green waterfalls that captivate and enchant many people around the world. These waterfalls are located beyond the village and can be seen and heard as you hike down to the Campgrounds. The beautiful blue-green water cascades over three major waterfalls: Navajo (located 1.25 miles from the village), Havasu (another .25 mile) and Mooney Falls (another mile). The water temperature of about 70 degrees remains relatively constant throughout the year. It's high mineral content and carbonate precipitate account for the pools and natural dams. The floods of some years ago destroyed many of these natural dams, but year by year they are being reformed.
