Shelli Harsha makes the perfect kind of pop music: memorable and moody rock, shot through with the right amounts of sweetness and grit. "I've been playing music pretty much for as long as I can rememeber," Harsha states, "playing in a few bands back in Houston (like the indie pop band, Adlai). But I never really wrote music that I was happy with when I lived there." Harsha discovered her muse in the Carolinas: "That's where the sparks first started coming from. I really found out who I was and I really needed that."
With a well-formed sound as broad as a Texas sky, Shelli Harsha seems ready to take her music to the national stage. With a sound that fits somewhere between the pop sensibilities of Sixpence None The Richer and the eclecticism of bands like Anathallo and The Broken Social Scene, Harsha is sure to draw immediate fans from the Southeast and beyond.
