Shellshocked est le nom donné a un stress post-traumatique, c'est un trouble psychologique se développant chez certains individus, victimes d'expériences traumatiques majeurs (par exemple, ayant éprouvé un accident grave ou ayant vécu une guerre). La personne est typiquement engourdi dans un premier temps mais développe ensuite des symptômes comme la dépression avancée, irritabilité excessive, culpabilité (d'avoir survécu alors que d'autres ont péri), cauchemars récurrents, flashbacks de la scène traumatique et réactions violentes aux bruits soudains. Le stress post-traumatique s'est fait connaitre dans les 70's au travers des problèmes rencontrés chez les vétérans du Vietnam.

Shellshocked is the name for what is known today as post-traumatic stress, this is a psychological disorder that develops in some individuals who have had major traumatic experiences (and, for example, have been in a serious accident or through a war). The person is typically numb at first but later has symptoms including depression, excessive irritability, guilt (for having survived while others died), recurrent nightmares, flashbacks to the traumatic scene, and overreactions to sudden noises. Post-traumatic stress became known as such in the 70s due to the adjustment problems of some Vietnam veterans.

L’écriture des morceaux qui figureront sur l’EP étant terminé depuis un moment, il ne suffit plus que de l’enregistrer. C’est décidé, l'enregistrement se fera en Février au Hell’n Beer Studio à Port St Louis. L’EP verra donc le jour, si tout se déroule comme prévu, aux alentours de mai - juin, et comportera cinq titres. Pour en préparer l'arrivée, le groupe a décidé de passer un cap et change complètement de peau. En collaboration avec le Hk Studio de Paris, Shellshocked vous promet une grande surprise visuelle. Au programme : nouveau logo, emblème, layout myspace. Les travaux étant d'ores et déjà à un stade bien avancé, nous vous assurons que l’ensemble du projet sera finalisé en février au plus tard. Passé ce mois de février chargé, le groupe s’attellera sur plusieurs scènes de la région et recherche toujours des bookings dans le réseau Aix/Marseille/Avignon, voire Montpellier et Lyon. Nous acceptons tout type de dates alors n’hésitez pas.

Le merch n’est pas encore d’actualité mais l’idée devrait se profiler assez rapidement après l'enregistrement…

The tracks for our upcoming EP have been ready for some time now, and all that is left is the recording. This will happen in the Hell'n'Beer Studio in Port St Louis (FR). If all goes as planned, the EP will be released around the end of May 2009, and will contain five tracks. In the effort of preparing for the disc, the band has decided to change skin completely. Collaborating with the Hk Studio from Paris, Shellshocked will soon reveal a brand new logo, emblem and myspace layout. The project is already well under way, and we can guarantee that it will finished by February. After a busy February, the band will play live on various stages in the South-East, and is still actively looking to be booked for gigs in the Aix/Marseille/Avignon network, or even Montpellier and Lyon. We accept all kinds of gigs, so don't hesitate to contact us.

Merchandising has not been properly considered yet, but we will get busy with it after recording.

C'est en 2006 que Ben (Basse) et Bastien (Guitare), deux jeunes potes du Vaucluse aux influences musicales proches, décident de former ensemble un groupe. Ils se connaissent depuis 2 ans et nourrissent la même passion. L’un résolument Thrash et le second, avide de Death et de genre plus extrêmes, avaient déjà essayé de jouer ensemble mais ils manquaient tous deux d'expérience. Ben intégra alors un groupe dans le coin où il resta 1 ans avant de le quitter avec l’idée en tête de former son propre projet, la formation d’un groupe avec Bastien se concrétise. Ils commencèrent avec quelques compos de Ben, puis Bastien, se mis lui aussi à composer, et quelque textes firent écrit par Stéphane Michalski, un des meilleurs amis de Ben et Bastien, excellent auteur à la rhétorique bien ficelée. Alors que les compos gagnaient en maturité aux influences Death/Thrash, ils intégrèrent Lucas comme second guitariste, qui ajouta sa touche personnelle, un peu folle, aux morceaux. Après toujours autant de galère pour trouver un batteur, le groupe recruta Max, un vieil ami de Ben, au chant. Aux origines vocales Thrash mais résolu à travaillé son chant Death, Max intègre le groupe et écrit lui aussi quelques textes pour les compos. Ils se mirent tous ensemble d’accord sur le nom de Shellshocked, et finalement, en décembre 2007, ils trouvent enfin un batteur en la personne de Luke Morrison, jeune anglais débarqué dans la région, fan de Black. Le groupe est donc au complet et fait de son mieux pour évoluer vers un style plus personnel et plus imposant.

Aujourd'hui, le groupe travaille dur pour se faire un nom dans le milieu, et a donné plusieurs concerts, dont le dernier en tête d'affiche, et a notamment ouvert pour Ad Hominem en septembre, obtenant de très bons retours du public. Le EP à venir s'annonce prometteur, et le groupe espère que le disque les aidera à franchir un cap...

In 2006, Ben (Bass) and Bastien (Guitar), two young friends in Vaucluse with near musical influences, decided to form a band together. They had known each other for 2 years and shared the same passion. One was a hardened Thrash fan and the other was hungry for Death and more extreme metal styles, and they had already tried to perform together but lacked experience. Ben integrated a band near by in which he stayed for one year before leaving it with the idea in mind to form his own project. The band with Bastien is taking shape. They began with some songs by Ben, then Bastien also took to composing, and some lyrics were written by Stéphane Michalski, one of the best friends of Ben and Bastien, an excellent author with a well-built rhetoric. As the songs gained maturity, they integrated Lucas as second guitarist, who added his personal touch, pretty crazy, to the material. After many difficulties finding a drummer, the band recruited Max, an old friend of Ben's, for vocals. With Thrash origins but keen on working on his Death vocals, Max integrates the band and writes some lyrics too. They all agree on the name “Shellshocked”, and finally, on December 2007, they find a drummer, Luke Morrison, a young Scot who landed in the region, another Black metal fan. The band is complete and is doing its best to evolve towards a more personal and imposing style.

Today, the band is working hard on its insertion in the metal scene, having given a few concerts during the year, headlining the most recent one and playing as opening act for Ad Hominem in september, getting very postive feedback from the audience. The upcoming EP is looking very promising, and the Shellshocked hope it will bring them one big step further...
