Shelly's been at it for 10 years now...comedy that is...

She's been at the other for much longer...well "she wishes" !!!

Shelly Plunkett was cruelly forced into stand up comedy in 1998 in Cairns thanks to the local MC turning up drunk and of course, Shelly being the quirky and loved bar attendant...her manager thought it would be a great idea to call for security and physically toss her on stage infront of 400 rowdy Queenslanders chanting for the long awaited show to begin - result being, they simply loved her!

Some six months later she moved to Brisbane to persu her new found path in life...stand up comedy. Working as the most regular gal on the scene in Brisbane, Shelly had quite a following over her 10 years. Through word of mouth, people became eager to find out what this woman was all about. She had a following, as this girl know how to own a stage!

Shelly then toured throughout Australia as Steady Eddys' regular MC, pulling the big crowds in the finest venues through to the tiny outback towns we personally named "shitsville" & meeting some of the best local nutters ever!

She's done Art centres,theatres,big day out festivals,to crappy public bar venues. Shelly's been on TV from commercial, and local TV stations, as well as Foxtels' Comedy Channel. She has also sold many gags to commercial radio through out Australia from Aus stero productions.

Shelly has supported/m.c with the cream of the crop in comedy from: Eric Bana,Dave Hughes, Greg Fleet,Adam Hills, Dave Hughes, Carl Barron,Arj Barker,Peter Hellier,Dave O'neil,Denise Scott,Shane Bourne, Mick Molloy, Akmal Saleh, Elliot Goblet,Judith Lucy,Lawrence Mooney,Corrine Grant,Vince Sorrenti,jimoen,Julia Morris,even chopper and many more!!!

Be it a prison function, padded cell,a swingers party, bingo night, a rave, or even some wanky corporate do, Shellys' amazing energetic performance & her pure raw honesty is the reason why audiences return for more! Shes very passionate, says it the way it is,and in fifth gear...This Proud broady chic can rock it!

After nearly 5yrs years off,&just returned from singapore gigs 09,shelly has returned with even more passion and power,stage presence,enormous energy which audiences are already returning to see her perform again say..(Quotes)~"Nothn fake about her", "she wakes you up and has you on the edge of your seat", "she says it the way it is~love that", "im exhausted watchn her...Brilliant", "My friends told me to come n check her out,shes worth it!
