The roots of Shelter Area 4 stem from my passion for music. I began playing in bands when I was a teenager. Like most young musicians, especially back then, there were big dreams and ideas but not many avenues or cash to put them in motion. As time moves on and the technology advances it has become much easier for moments in music to be captured and broadcast to a much wider audience. As far as I'm concerned the internet may have hurt the cd sales industry, but for all of us whom are just excited to make music and have it heard by all, have it be inspiring to others, maybe they may even genuinely think it's cool, that is my goal. Would it be awesome to be a millionaire musician? Well ya. Does it really matter though? A teacher I had in high school once told me , "Mike, don't do something just for the money because you will be unhappy and it will be too much like work. If you find something you love to do and learn to do it well enough maybe people will pay you to do that and it will not be like work at all. That is success."
That is why I began recording my ideas and helping other musicians. Maybe someday when I am still not rich, I will at least have left my mark in the form of a song. I hope you like it.
