I'm a Guitar Maker/Owner of Sherman Guitars and a Bass Player located in Connecticut. I've been building Guitars since 1978 and have worked for Hohner Guitars in the R&D Dept., I also worked for Dean Guitars, Hamer Guitars, I ran the Final Assembly Dept. for Ovation Guitars, and ran Washburn Guitars Custom Shop. I now have my own shop here in Connecticut where I build high end "one off", made to order guitars. Some of the artists I have worked for down the years are: Cheap trick, Def Leppard, Derek Trucks, Joe Perry, No Doubt, Living Colour, Judas Priest, Albert Collins,Todd Rundgren, The Cars, Sammy Hagar, DimeBag Darrell (RIP my brother), Michael Wilton, John Hyatt, Jennifer Batten, Steve Stevens, Nuno Bettencourt, Freddy Jones Band, and a host of others.
When I'm not building guitars, you can catch me occasionally out in the club scene playing bass with Flipper Dave, and Shortness. My other passion is Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing, and restoring Historic Grand Prix Motorcycles. You can catch me at the local New England race tracks (Loudon, and LimeRock park).
It's an exciting time here at Sherman Guitars as I am expanding my model range at the moment to include two 8 string guitar models, and a very special 10 string guitar for a client currently under construction. I also build Extended range Multi-scale Basses up to 12 strings.
