In 2002, Sherri released her debut album called MASK. The CD had an autobiographical feel to it...taking the listener through a guantlet of emotions dealing with how people seem to "hide behind the mask". Less commercial...more artistic in nature...many of the songs came from Sherri's feelings in coping with breaking away from a longtime career in the computer industry, and leaving it all behind to pursue a musical dream. Her first single, "Home of the Free" is a patriotic song that has made it's way around the globe as a tribute to our service men & women. This song was also the the theme song of a local TV show. Other songs from the CD were featured on radio shows in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
In December 2005, Sherri released her sophomore CD entitled ON THE EDGE. This eclectic collection of songs was a result of her working with producer Jason Rubal (Seventh Wave Studios) in recording a half dozen commercial songs targeted specifically to the film and tv market. Once the songs were completed, Sherri decided to release them, along with some previously unreleased material and fan-favorite "bootleg" recordings, as a gift to her faithful following. The core of this album is much more commercial by design. What makes the collection unique in a sea of indie releases, is the effortless way in which Sherri moves seemlessly from one style of song to another. She remains believeable not only as a "RockDiva" - nailing alternative rock & modern pop selections, but is also not afraid to share her softer adult alternative & country sides, and her fiesty blues roots. Several of the songs from ON THE EDGE have already been placed in film/tv projects in the United Kingdom and the United States.
In April 2007, Sherri released her long anticipated CD "FEARLESS", which quickly gained regional, national and international attention. Songs from this album have been marked for upcoming film and artist projects, and have been featured on radio stations around the globe! This ten song CD showcases a polished, prolific, and accomplished songwriter who has carved out a space of her own in the music world. "FEARLESS" is a very real statement of courage, honesty, and perseverance from a woman who not only possesses these qualities, but lives her somewhat complicated...never boring...life to the fullest, against all odds, refusing to be beaten down...even when most others would have quit. This AWARD WINNING CD is the crowning jewel in Sherri Mullen's collection, and in true "crossover" tradition, has been embraced by country, adult contemporary, and pop music fans alike.
Sherri's love for music and passion for wanting to help other musicians is evident by the many projects that she so willingly takes on. This former Executive Producer, Internet Radio Show Host, and Television Personality (Co-Host of Backstage Pass with Sherri & Geo - WHBG-20), showcased the musical talents of many musicians in and around the Harrisburg Pennsylvania area. In 2005, Sherri was named a Regional Workshop Coordinator for Nashville Songwriters Association International, where she helps to facilitate songwriting workshops, educational events, and networking events for songwriters in the Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania area. If this is not enough for even the most energetic person to handle, Sherri continues to perform regularly in the Eastern Pennsylvania region, while managing, marketing, promoting, and licensing her music, and the music of other talented songwriters, through her international publishing companies (RockDiva & SugarDaddy Publishing-ASCAP ... RockDaddy & SugarDiva Publishing(BMI)).
Sherri has received various accolades during her career. In 2007, she sweeped the CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA MUSIC AWARDS by winning in both of her nominated categories...BEST LOCAL CD (FEARLESS) and BEST ACOUSTIC ACT! According to Ms. Mullen, her biggest accomplishment is not attributed to the music she makes or the adventures she takes on...but to her marriage of 20+ years, her highly supportive husband, her two sons, and the people that she can positively impact in her day to day life.
