was born on April 22, 1967 in Germany. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado, spending much of her youth studying dance before knee injuries ended her hope of becoming a dancer. She began acting in school plays, graduated from Fairview High School, and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. Lee also spent time at the North Carolina School of Arts, the National Conservatory Theater in Denver, and Colorado University before pursuing stage work in Seattle, Washington.
Her father is an architect and her mother is an artist. She has a younger sister who is a piano teacher and a younger brother who used to be in college pursing a career in the film business. She is also the mother of a little boy named ELIJAH and is now married to the father of the baby, the musician JESSE DIAMOND,
son of Legendary Singer NEIL DIAMOND.
At the end of her studies, SHERYL attended many dramatic arts schools such as the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California, summer programs at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the National Conservatory Theater in Denver.
Then she moved to Seattle where she was able to find some roles in theater plays.
This is also where she met director DAVID LYNCH
who asked her to audition for TWIN PEAKS and chose her for the role of Laura Palmer, and she later appeared on
"Twin Peaks" (1990) as Laura's cousin Madeleine Ferguson. Madeleine was a brunette and wore glasses, but of course bore a striking resemblance to her late relative.
SHERYL worked with "TWIN PEAKS" (1990) mastermind
DAVID LYNCH again on the film "Wild at Heart" (1990), and resurrected Laura Palmer one last time for

"Twin Peaks: FIRE WALK WITH ME"(1992)
After the success of "TWIN PEAKS", which made her famous throughout the world, she got the leading role in
"LOVE, LIES & MURDER", an NBC mini-series and the small part of The Good Witch in LYNCH'S "WILD AT HEART"
In 1992, she had the chance to work with Al Pacino in "SALOME", the Oscar Wilde play.
SHERYL has also starred
in the Classic Films
"BACKBEAT", "BLISS", "MOTHER NIGHT" and
John Carpenter's Classic "VAMPIRES"
SHERYL has also made unforgettable appearances
on the TV shows "Red Shoe Diaries",
"Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" and played
Dr. Sarah Church in the hit "L.A. Doctors"
Her large Fan base continued with an
outstanding peformance in season three
of the Smash Hit Show "ONE TREE HILL"
and SHERYL was originally one of
the main characters Mary Alice Young
on the samsh hit "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES"
She filmed the PILOT Episode, but it
NEVER Aired and SHERYL was replaced.
SHERYL loves animals very much and has been a
*PETA* member for a long time. She takes part
in campaigns against fur and bad treatments of
animals and has posed for several controversial
sexy POSTERS for *PETA* as well
SHERYL is currently starring on the
Hit ABC series "DIRTY SEXY MONEY"
