“She's a Man” was born in November of 2007 from the union of Polvere and Berkana (relatively Pellegrino Gianfranco and Iapicca Mirko), already members of the Kief (Indie project) since 1996, with Pois (Vincenzo Miele), protagonist of a solo project of electronic music. The intention is to experience new sounds, blending electronic music to genres such as Soul, Indie and Black Music.It’s educated electronics.
In a few months they boast a vast production, giving life to elegant atmospheres, where melodies and rhythms are melted in a deep and unprejudiced way. Polvere, as mentioned above, already the voice of Kief, experiments with more constructed melodies, soft, a less scratched voice but deeper, able to dance from one genre to another without ever being forced, rough. Berkana, the guitarist of the Kief, began to experiment with electronic music in 2006 with an homonymous solo project (Berkana) where he sees himself engaged in the manipulation of voices and sounds seized from the surrounding world.
It’s the same for Pois, in 2006 he began experimenting, evocative sounds, dark and melodic settings mark his homonymous solo project “Pois”.
In February 2008 they participated in “Italia Wave”, winning the category “Urban”, and arriving second in the general competition. After just a month the ”Sy6 Studio”, a laboratory registered to Nicola Buono (Retina.it), produced “Landscape”, a compilation with the most innovative productions of the region of Campania, in which “She's a Man” appears with their “Clay”.
After filling up the majority of venues in the local towns, with exciting and all-involving live shows, in June of the same year they won the “Free-studio Contest”, that gave them the possibility to definitly become the most innovative idea of the region of Campania scene. In the last month to the list of their live shows two dates in Rome, and one in Lecce have been added. With the production of their first album finished, they are currently searching for a label and a booking agency that allows their ideas to be heard more.

Bloggate, postate,distribuite.. da Subbart Magazine di Dicembre(www.subbart.tk) "...dalla accurata selezione di oltre ottanta brani di vari gruppi della penisola, si è giunti ad estrapolare diciassette proposte musicali, diciassette canzoni che, come un istantanea, fotografano il panorama "indie" italiano. Andiamo dal power blues degli Andy Fag & The Real Man (con chiari riferimenti alla "Esplosione Blues" di Jon Spencer) al rock sognante degli Onirica, che hanno il pregio di unire al loro stile il canto in lingua italiana, cosa non facile per tale genere così "americano". Molto interessante il garage rock dei No Strings Left, e con The Synthromantic e She's a Man torniamo negli anni '80 dei pantaloni di pelle attillati. Gli Abulico, con la loro Tokio Eyes, si dimostrano uno dei gruppi più interessanti del panorama campano. Da sentire i Bems, con la loro commistione tra New Order e rumori industrial, il bel folk con ottimi testi della Piccola Banda Brigante, e le atmosfere prog di Underscore e Desert Clouds. Potenti i The Strip in Midi Side, più pop e intellettuali gli Orange Lem da Pesaro, musica d'ambiente interessantissima per Jacob's Room. Brani per tutti i gusti, compilation assolutamente da ascoltare."
Ad un mese dalla sua uscita la Bulbartworks è felice di tirare le prime somme sulla Compilation a cui avete partecipato in qualche modo.
- Un evento di presentazione che ha visto quasi 300 presenze confermando l'entusiasmo di tutti verso il progetto e lasciando ben sperare per il secondo atto del 13 dicembre..a cui siete tutti invitati..anche voi band che avete gia suonato.... - Più di 1000 copie digitali downloadate, dato aggiornato alla settimana scorsa..quindi al momento sarà di sicuro cresciuto ulteriormente- Prima recensione del disco sul magazine SUbbart (www.subbart. tk) in uscita in questi giorni e distribuito gratuitamente nei principali live club e bar di Campania e Lazio...lo potete leggere scaricando il pdf dal sito. - Dal mese di dicembre.. per due mesi il disco sarà in play tutti i giorni presso la storica Fonoteca di Napoli in Via Cisterna dell' Olio tra le 11 e le 12 - presto annunceremo i primi passaggi webradio e le uscite delle prossime recensioni..
