Shibumi are a band from Chester featuring Chris Cartwright (Vocals), James Lewis (Guitar), Ted Crunkhorn (Bass) and Dan Mounter (Drums).
These individuals decided to get together after discovering a common interest in music, and writing and performing original material with fellow, like-minded musicians.
The band prefer to operate with a standard vocal/guitar/bass/drum line-up, with James working closely with the bass to produce guitar and bass parts that compliment each other in every possible way, thus giving Dan the task of providing more complex and intricate rhythms than he has written before. Add Chris' vocal and you have a great icing on a lovely kick-ass cake.
Shibumi combine immense power and drive with subtle and elegant passages within their music, set to a backdrop of evocative lyrics. They are renowned for putting on a compelling live performance.
Shibumi recorded a four-track CD in February 2006 which can be heard on this profile.
