Photographer's About Me

My name is Shiela Avila a Co-founder and photographer of Unique Transitions. I would like to first, thank you for your interest in our work. I hope you enjoy it. (Always love to hear critiques. It is never too late to learn or improve.)

I was born in Okinawa, Japan. My father was in the Marine Corps for over 25 years which gave us the privilege to see the world first hand. I had the opportunity, like many military kids; to experience art, history and culture most American youth only read about. Living in these cultures gave me a different perspective and appreciation for life. This has helped me develop my love for photography.

I want to capture emotional and inspirational moments of time. I want my viewers to feel what the subject feels.

Personal About Me

I see myself as a fairly diversified individual. Growing up in a country overseas and traveling at a fairly young age; which has help shape who I am today.

I enjoy being a little different from others.

I try anything as long as it does not harm me.

I love learning and experiencing cultures, the best part would be the languages, values, and food.

I am very patriotic and strongly support our military personnel who make it possible for me to have these experiences and freedoms.

I created an extraordinary bucket list.
