THE SHILOH IS NO LONGER HERE> PLEASE DONT ASK FOR BOOKING
4529 TCHOUPITOULAS ST.
NEW ORLEANS, LA 70115
Out of a desire to bring to Uptown New Orleans the funky vibe and musical eclecticism featured in so many Downtown joints, Shiloh was opened in 2003 by New Orleans residents and Tulane graduates James Bailey and Dennis Hartman. Shiloh quickly gained a reputation for being Uptowns most laid back, late night option for turntablism, select live music and the hippest most diverse clientele in the city.
Diversity in crowd and music has always been a chief goal in the creation and development of Shiloh. The lounge with its couches and warm, dim décor caters to everyone from college drinkers to hip young professionals and even hardened New Orleans stalwarts. Some of this is surely the result of the wide spectrum of musical talent Shiloh brings in to wow its faithful customers. Shiloh, usually cover free, specializes in turntablism, and draws from the huge crop of local dj talent who drop the funk on a nightly basis till the wee hours of the morning, every weekend of the year. Select live acts also grace the intimate vibe of Shilohs living-room-like atmosphere. Beginning with now legendary late-night jam sessions with Stanton Moore and Rob Mercurio of New Orleans Galactic, Eric Lindell, and countless other local glitterati, Shiloh quickly became known for intimate, late-night free-for-alls that rocked Tchoupitoulas street until sunrise.
Following the growing success of live gigs, the lounge produced Rare Form, its first annual jazz fest series.
Since 2003 Shiloh and its owner/operators has enjoyed carving a niche for itself in New Orleans night-life. By offering a one of a kind environment, ground breaking musical entertainment and a hip, underground, corporate-influence-free philosophy hopefully it will be able to serve local and visiting freaks alike for many years to come
