About Shimakum

Shimakum got infected by music and started playing the guitar at a very young age. But after going out more often he found his true love: electronic music. In the beginning he listened to more dubby and triphop sounds and started to play as a deejay in local bars in Ghent.

Together with some friends he also started to produce his own music by experimenting with drumcomputers, samplers and effects. Around ‘96 Shimakum got more and more fascinated by the powerful drive of techno and started to explore this genre.

Nowadays Shimakum plays qualitative techno, tech-house and minimal spiced with some tribal grooves & melodies brought with very tight mixing skills. At this moment Shimakum is heavily active in the studio. He released his debut EP on Klips records in 2007. Shimakum recently teamed up with Seba Lecompte and started to play livepa's together.

Shimakum is producing very nice music indeed :)
Not in the least with a friend called 'Tich', with whom he founded the band Boudica. Three girls with spine-chilling voices joined in, leading to an amazing sound.
