“We never planned on any of this,”
says front woman Emily about being in an up and coming band. But when a person is born for a purpose, whether you are looking for it or not, it finds you.
This is the case for new alternative rock band, Shine Bright Baby formed in late 2007. Hailing from the sleepy town of Orrville, Ohio, they have an impressive repertoire in a short time. Within the first three months of meeting each other they crafted together a 6 song demo (Brace Yourself EP). Since day one, Emily Irene (lead vocals/keys), Nathan Fertig (guitar/vocals), Hudson Taylor (bass/vocals), and Krislyn Woolley (drums) have not wasted any time or opportunity making music that explodes onstage with energy and passion.
Now, the curtain is rising and stage is set for these five unlikely individuals to answer to their calling with their newest release “The Heart and Its Hope” EP. This much anticipated recording includes the energetic single “We Were Made To,” a song that Yes FM reviewers call “a fresh sound for this period of time.” Scoring a slot on the beach stage at the renowned Christian music festival Alive in June of 2009, has given the band the publicity needed to take them to the next level. With sales and media attention rising, it will not be long until the depth and range of their talents are unveiled for eager ears worldwide.

I can feel winds of change and it's not just the new 40 degree Ohio weather! Of course, we are not ones for slowing down so we have been working twice as hard to be the best band we can for you guys. Got to play our first show in Nashville... love that city and the show was wonderful! Spent some time with our friend Zoltan who took our new pictures. You will also be seeing him on the road with us in October and November. We have a lot of different things in the works right now that we can't wait to unveil so keep checking back. 9/9/09? weird... how did summer fly by so quickly? It's been amazing, but it's sad to see those days end. Let's recap summer 09: new ep! alive festival, our first tour, cool new hair cuts and pics, few other festivals, urmine, lots of shows and meeting lots of neat people...did i forget anything? I am sure I did.. it's been too eventful to recall on the spot. needless to say, this has been landmark summer for sbb, hopefully the first of many. Not to get too nostalogic (i am so inclined that way as it is haha), but we are coming up on sbb's 2 year birthday at the end of october. we have come soo far since that first show on november 2nd 2007. Oh man... I should save this for a blog. But just wanted to say that we have a very important announcement on monday. we would have never gotten this far without you guys, and we're ready to take the step...so let's do it!! Hello hello! How's everyone feeling about the brand new layout and photos? Special thanks to Nick Brewer and Liz Arneson for making us look so stinkin cool. I can't believe the new ep has been out for over 2 months, has it really been that long? I finally put up the lyrics to the new ep, so if you get chance swing by and check out those. Right now we took a little time off to be with family but don't worry we will be on the road again soon! Well I have to get to bed, I have stolen enough hotel internet for one night :p

It has been a crazy ride lately! I can't thank all of you enough who have been coming out to shows! Whether Alive Festival or when we are far from home, it means so much to us. I love how the Shine Bright Baby family is growing! So we finally put our twitters back up, so feel free to follow us all, we update often. Tweetin seems to be the in thing right now haha. It's been too long since I've used this little box! Alot of amazing things have happened since then like...we made it into ALIVE FESTIVAL! We released our newest ep "The Heart and Its Hope" and we have a giant list of shows for you all to see us! Thank you to everyone who preordered the new cd and everyone who came out to the shows and got the cd! Release shows were wonderful. So what do you guys think of that new song?? Very soon we will be putting up a sampler track for the new ep along with tracklisting/artwork the whole nine yards! Just wanted to remind everyone that all booking requests need to be sent to booking@shinebrightbaby.com. Also we are trying to play at Alive Festival this year but we need everyone to vote everyday! Busy time for SBB! Finished up recording the new EP at Random Awesome Studio this past weekend. Put up some videos that cover the time we spent there. We decided to take a trip to Nashville, so we hung out today with our manager Jesse Nemitz at the Singing Success Studio! Update 1/24/09 SBB has been pretty video happy lately! In addition to our "We Were Made To" video our footage from Alive Festival with Singing Success this past summer FINALLY made it onto YouTube this last week. Ah, good memories. We are excited to be bring you new promo pics (new image...and new member...??), a new layout, more live videos AND (like it couldn't get any better!) and info about our upcoming release!!! It was shot at Wired on New Year's Eve, if you were there you may see yourself :) We have been working on some new tunes when the snow lets us. SBB would proudly like to announce our new manager Jesse Nemitz, you may recognize him from Singing Success and we can't wait for what's going to be happening next!!
Update 12/19/08 It's 12:12 am so i guess that makes it the next day. Today we are going one of our friend's studio to record some acoustic goodies for everyone. Finals finished up last week and we have been working on a lot of new stuff. I can't wait for you guys to hear it! We decided to take some time off from live shows to write and so far we got a great start! Creative juices are flowing! Christmas is so close its scary but i love this time of year. Watch our page on Dec 20th (technically tomorrow!) for a holiday song we will be putting up for download. It will only be up for a short time but its our gift to you, our amazing fans! We have posted our NEWEST song, the first song we recorded since we put our our ep last spring and we are proud of the way we've progressed and hope everyone loves it! Update 12/3/08 Thanks to everyone who came out to the show sunday at our home church! It was a blast. Thanksgiving was cool, finals are not. Noah is cool too and the game little big planet is really amazing. Nathan is now 20..whoa he's the old man of the crew. NEW TRACK UP SOON!!!!
Update 11/23/08 This Weekend we 1. Won The Wayne College Talent Show 2. Had a great time playing at The Grange 3. Nelson bought a new video game and beat it in a week ;)
