SHINING STAR is the brainchild of Legendary Brazilian guitarist FABIO ROCHA, In 2001, Fabio decided to do a song oriented album that wasn't instrumental and put out his first album with another Legendary Brazilian, vocalist NANDO FERNANDES and brothers Andrea Busic on bass Ivan Busic on drums, both of (DR. SIN) DR SIN well known internationally for it's release with Michael Vescara (ex-vocalist of OBSESSION / LOUDNESS / YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and others)

Fabio put this group togther and called it FABIO ROCHA's SHINING STAR....the album's title was "FATAL MISTAKE"

FATAL MISTAKE garnered fantastic reviews internationally even though it was only released officially on Megahard Records in Brazil, this was the start to inroads Fabio would make with his music into North America and Europe.

Flash forward 1-1/2 years it's now the beginning of 2003

Vocalist Lance King leaves Balance of Power, and Frontline Records (BOP's south American record label and Fabio's new label) asks Lance if he would like to record an album with Fabio. This time however Fabio wants to make it a real band. Fabio had a new solid lineup a core band and a fantastic new album written.... Lance agreed and vocal Recordings ensued, This was to be Lance's new musical home....Frontline asked Lance to Produce and Mix the album in Minneapolis, Lance chose to work with his long time friend Todd Fitzgerald who had mixed the last 4 BOP albums.

A year had passed with no money from Frontline to cover studio expences and Lance was offered another album with PYRAMAZE during this time from Intromental Management in Denmark, Lance Loved the music and when the songs were being recorded realized just what a unique and wonderful sound the band had found...with this new album MELANCHOLY BEAST, this was the beginnings of what would become Lance's new musical home until November of 2006 when Lance and Pyramaze would part ways.

Now almost 3 years after Lance began recording the SHINING STAR, the band and Lance have worked out the details and this album will see the light of day. The band released one song to PROG-POWER for they're festival sampler, and also it's available on the new NIGHTMARE RECORDS SAMPLER, and here are four full songs on myspace for you to enjoy!
