Shinobi Sound is a French based sound-system specialized in all forms of Jamaican music from ska to dancehall, including rocksteady, roots reggae and rub-a-dub. Influenced by the legendary sound-systems from Jamaica and the UK, Shinobi's unique style and wicked selections strictly consist of original and often hard-to-find vynil records.
After collecting records for some years, Likkle Charlie, Wikid Ben and Beenie Bongo started playing on public occasions in 2004, in order to share the best of Jamaican music with the massive and make the people dance to the sweet reggae beat!
Shinobi Sound first got known in their hometown of Le Havre (aka L.H. City) by playing monthly in a reggae flavoured club called Kingstown Café, supporting local artists Maestro Sossa & Colonel Yizom, as well as other singers & MCs.
By that time, as the record collection grew and the first dubplates were recorded, Shinobi Sound started promoting dancehall parties, meeting other sounds, selecters and artists, from L.H. City and other towns. They were soon invited to play in other parts of the country as well, starting the ongoing process of establishing Shinobi Sound to a larger crowd. Meanwhile, Shinobi were also booked for charity evenings, reggae concerts, festivals, radio shows and other events...
In 2008, NINJA PROMOTION was founded as a non-profit organization, in order to offer an official structure for the sound's activities.
Until today, the selection and dubplate box of the sound is growing steadily and Shinobi keeps promoting entertainment to the fullness, ready to nice up any dance, both in their hometown and in other cities!

SHINEHEAD ( New York / Jam)
Jamaïquain né en Angleterre, Shinehead a passé la quasi totalité de son enfance et adolescence entre la Jamaïque et New York.
Il débute sa carrière artistique en 1980 en faisant ses classes dans
les différents sounds systems new yorkais tels que Downbeat the Ruler
ou African love.
En 1984, il obtient un 1er hit en reprenant la chanson de Michael Jackson "Billy Jean" avec Steelie & Cleevie.
En 1988 , il est signé par le label Elektra records sur lequel il sort son 1er album Unity.
Début 90, son 2ème album "The real rock" intègre du hip hop au reggae
créant un style qui sera repris pas des artistes comme Shabba Ranks ou
Shaggy.
En 92, le célèbre single "Jamaïcan in New York" reprise de "Englishman in NY" de Sting connait un succés international.
Musicalement, Shinehead développe un style tout terrain, il peut toaster, rapper ou chanter sur n’importe quelle version.
Ses textes sont positifs et conscients, ses lives connus pour être parmi les plus dynamiques et chaleureux de la scène actuelle.
