Performance: Drums, Keyboards and sequencing, Guitars (Elctric and Acoustic), Bass (Electric)
Engineering: Both in analog and digital. I'm good at coming up with the best possible result from limited resouces. Recording, Mixing and Mastering.
I've produced many projects understanding each different roles in the music production
I've composed music which was aired on well respected media (TV, radio and movies)
music arranging has always been my strength which helped me to perform well in above roles
Influences
I listen to all kinds of music. I tend to prefer the music that has clear itention of where it's going, but then I like things that surprise me. Pop. Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Gospel, Latin, New Age, Classical...... with all the sub catagories included. From most delicate music to ear bleeding bang....
Sounds Like
People say when they listened to the music that has my performance on it, like: "yeah, that sounds like Shinya's drums", or "this must be Shinya's mix".
Shinya Miyamoto is a versatile New York City musician from Hiroshima, Japan, with a background in arranging, engineering, producing and, sequencing programming (recording, mixing, mastering, etc.). Shinya began his musical development at age four on piano and continued with the drums at age fourteen. With the drums, he found his true means of personal expression and musical freedom.
He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he majored in Professional Music and graduated Cum Lade in 1994. After doing many live music shows and recording projects in Boston, Shinya relocated to New York City to work as an engineer and music programmer for a commercial Jingle House / Film Scoring Production Company, John Hill Music.
Most recently, he worked as a mastering engineer and editor at Sterling Sound, the largest music mastering plant in the world. While there, Shinya learned to rely on his musical ability to help him master complicated musical situations. He performed and recorded for numerous projects/artists from all over the world.

yo yo yo yo yo! I've been meaning to call your ass about mixing, but I can't get Sara's computer to work right! I wiped the drive clean tried to reinstall stuff and have had nonstop problems since, ending with putting a Mac Display CD in, getting a blank blue screen that doesn't do anything and not being able to get the CD out! Have to take it to Tech Serv now. Hopefully that will work and we can get to mixin! Happy Fweakin Nude Year! D.
Since you were at Arturo's funeral, I am passing this info to you - a lady named Naomi sent me this info through my blog where I wrote about Arturo: Hi. I am contacting you because I saw your blog entry about Arturo Flores. I did not know Arturo, but was saddened to see that another cyclist was killed on our streets. It sounds like he was a wonderful musician who brought much joy to people who heard him play.
I volunteer with a group called Street Memorials, which installs memorials for cyclists and pedestrians killed in New York City. We will be installing a ghost bike to remember Arturo on 23rd Ave and 27th Street in Astoria. We will be having a memorial ride on Sunday, January 4th and plan to be at the memorial at 12:30. I'm hoping you can reach out to others who may have known Arturo to let them know about the memorial and invite them to participate in ride or meet us in Astoria. Anyone who wants to say a few words in memory of Arturo will be welcome to do so. All details are at http://www. ghostbikes. org/node/364.
