Peter Gabriel, Velvet Underground, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Talking Heads, The Cars, Suicide, Devo, Wall of Voodoo, Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby, Luna, Flock of Seagulls. Stars of the Lid and David Lynch soundtracks, Brian Jonestown Massacre. Electronica and noise acts trying to do something new ... contemporary musicians need to try to be new about what they do. Or at least rip off stuff that's good instead of stuff that sucks.

Let me check your mouth. Is it you
who swallowed my prefrontal lobe?
I should see sugar there along the gum line.
You taste what makes me move my hands
along your fur.
Who lives there under your skirt?
Bondage and nature. Birds and falling.
So many questions about fur, black socks
with brown shoes. She sure is pretty
with the ocean or the arctic flat behind her.
The long tail, the boiling water.
A man asks if she ever thinks of going back to fill in all that white.
It starts quietly, her head. She cries her house down.
She shoes the horses braided to black dogs. The girl
turning to smoke. She holds her riding crop, her body
angry about allowing us in. She did it with a smack.
Riding with high brown boots. Her voice
full of canvas through a tiny black door.
The rope is tight. Christ,
the eyes are up, the blank stare.
The pigs are sinking everything,
the green house. Pitch them out.
