Established in 2004 by Steven Stavrakis (Waterfront Records, Fellaheen, one time cafe owner) Shiny Entertainment began life as an independent record label (Dinosaur Jr, Death From Above 1979, Stars, Broken Social Scene, Dave Grohl’s Probot) but has since evolved into a music and entertainment publicity company specialising in record, tour and festival publicity. Being the multi-talented multi-tasking team that we are, Shiny also exercise our skills in venue bookings, marketing, artist management, and share our experience, wisdom and general life opinions as music industry consultants.

Shiny also books and promotes The Evelyn Hotel, one of Melbourne’s longest running music venues located in the heart of Fitzroy on Brunswick Street. The Evelyn is a 400 capacity room with live music seven nights a week. Since Shiny took over venue bookings in September 2007 bands like The Dirtbombs, Jebediah, Jay Reatard, Jeff Martin, Dan Deacon, The Getaway Plan Pikelet and many more have graced The Evelyn’s stage.
