GRITTY IN PINK TOUR featuring the Shiragirl Stage... Comin soon to a parkin lot near u!
In the summer of 2004, Shiragirl invaded the "boys club" of punk rock summercamp Warped Tour 04 by driving their signature hot pink bus into the venue, parking next to the Truth Truck and across from the skater half-pipe, and rocking out. Shiragirl became the first all-girl band to crash Warped Tour. Instead of getting booted, Shiragirl was invited to play the rest of the tour by Warped producer Kevin Lyman! The girls then concocted a plan to bring more even girl-fronted bands to the scene and create a female presence on stage.
The following year, Shiragirl not only returned to play the entire Warped Tour 2005, but along with their all-girl wrecking crew, Shiragirl hosted their very own home-built BRIGHT PINK stage for girl rockers: the Shiragirl Stage. Over 100 amazing unsigned, underground and independent all-girl and female-fronted bands were selected to grace the stage, exploding onto a scene of otherwise mostly male musicians. Living through and overcoming all the challenges of running a DIY-style stage at the world's biggest and longest-running music festival, plus solidifying their place in the Warped dysfunctional family, the all-girl stage was welcomed back for Warped Tour 06!
While the stage took a hiatus in 2007, now it is back in full swing for Warped Tour 2008, for selected dates on the West and East Coast. Once again, expect a diverse line-up of fierce, aggressive, in-your-face artists from around the country who dabble in sounds from electro to metal, rap to punk, spoken word to hardcore to straight-up rock and roll. All DIY all the time, Shiragirl will use their trademark guerilla marketing tactics as well as the collective muscles of girl bands handpicked from around the countryto draw a crowd to the stage!

The mission of the Shiragirl Stage is to provide a platform for female creative expression and girl voices in a music scene where the girlz are half the audience, but hard to find onstage.
