  • Bio

Shiregreen is the stage name of the German musician Klaus Adamaschek. Shiregreen's music is a wonderful blend of folk and country styles, both intense and relaxing. Some of the Shiregreen songs intentionally echo the great songwriters of the 70s, like Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson or Leonhard Cohen, but his warm bass voice and authentic song material make his music very distinctive. .. His fan club in Germany is huge and his fame and popularity have been growing very rapidly in the USA too. Shiregreen's song Freedom fighter won the 2008 worldwide Songwriter Contest called "Comprosers". ...... ....The new album........ Peaceful shades - that's the title of the new (and fifth) album of the sensitive singer/songwriter Shiregreen. Every single one of the 14 songs tells its own story. It once more illustrates the memorable voice, the thoughtful lyrics and the catchy melodies of Shiregreen. It's the first time that Shiregreen has recorded all basic tracks live with a band: Paul Adamaschek (bass, percussion, keyboards, vocals), Tom Eriksen (electric and acoustic guitars, vocals) and Frank Schäfer (drums) helped that Peaceful shades sounds the way it should be: relaxed, straight from the heart and very peaceful... Peaceful shades was released by the German label Fachwerk Studios at November 15th 2010. ...... ....US-Tour in 2011........ On stage, the 54 year-old musician, equipped with just his guitar and a harp, succeeds in creating an intense ambience that spellbinds his audience. Mostly Shiregreen is performing in Germany. In 2010 for the first time he had some very successful performances in the USA, such as in Stockbridge/ Massachusetts and in Liberal/Kansas... In 2011 Shiregreen and his wife Angelika were travelling through the United States for half a year. Shiregreen was performing at a lot of different venues amongst others in Los Angeles, Tucson, Albuquerque, Fort Collins, Laramie and San Francisco. A special highlight was his performance at the Northern Rockies Folk Festival in Hailey/Idaho. Biography. In a sense, Klaus Adamaschek, born in 1957 in the heart of the Ruhr area, has always made music. At age 15 he already began writing his own songs, influenced by American songwriters such as Kris Kristofferson, Jim Croce or Neil Young. During his university training to be a teacher, concerts as a German-singing songwriter followed, later he founded his own folk- and rock band. In 1985, he entered a 20-year musical break, during which he concentrated fully on his professional career as the director of a well known ecological education centre. In 2005, virtually at the height of his occupational career, Klaus Adamaschek rediscovered his love for folk music and songwriting, inspired by his second wife Angelika. He now writes high-level English songs that are inspired by the authentic experiences made in exciting years of his life. Discography The Shiregreen albums were produced by Wolfgang Manns at Toolhouse Studios in Rotenburg, one of Germany's state-of-the-art studios. .... Another life, another song (2007) .. Dreams and shadows (2008).. Reaching the shore (2009).. The Toolhouse sessions (2009).... Peaceful shades (2010)....

  • Sounds Like

I hope it sounds just like Shiregreen. My songs are rooted in the music of the singers and songwriters of the late 60th and the 70th like Kris Kristofferson, Jim Croce, Stephen Stills or James Taylor. Most of them are still alive and still got a lot to say... that's quite reassuring...
