23 JUNE: ON DOCTOR'S ORDERS DSB PULLS OUT OF MANDELA SHOW
It is with great sadness that we announce to Dame Shirley Bassey's fans around the world, all excitedly awaiting her headlining performance at Nelson Mandela's concert, that Dame Shirley has been forced to pull out the show for health reasons.
Despite her recent emergency stomach operation, Dame Shirley was determined to recover in time for Friday's event, but she has now been advised by her surgeon that she's not ready to travel and perform in her 'give it everything way' that we know and love her for.
She had been looking forward very much to meeting up with the great man and being a part of such a special and exciting event, and is so gutted not to be able to attend.

31 MAY: SPECIAL THANKS TO DSB'S FRIENDS ON MYSPACE
Dame Shirley is now out of hospital and back at home, she is resting up and on the road to a full recovery following her recent operation.
Our Diamond Dame remains in good spirits and hopes to be fit enough to perform at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert in Hyde Park on June 27th. She is looking forward very much to meeting up with the great man himself and to being a part of such a special and exciting event.
A special thank you for all the get well wishes that have been pouring in. Dame Shirley has been so touched by everyone’s concern, knows that she is loved and adored by you all and will be be logging on to MySpace from her home in Monte Carlo to read those wonderful caring comments that so many of you have kindly left for her. Please keep them coming!

The Living Tree was the song that really got the party started. After a long and successful career Dame Shirley was thinking of retiring - then along came Catherine and Nikki from the band Never The Bride who presented Shirley with their recording of The Living Tree from their Surprise album. She fell in love with it straight away and knew she just had to record it!
The result is an incredible hit single featuring seven fabulous mixes of The Living Tree. Chart records were broken when it was released back in April
2007 and if you haven't already got yours it's not too late to get a copy...
