About me:
I am dedicating this site to the Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign.......................... There is to be a second protest march and rally on Saturday 26th July 10.00am. The starting point is Bridlington business centre, rear of Morrison's on Bessingby Way, finishing at Bridlington hospital. If you are in the area please join us, every voice counts!.........The profile pic is a portrait of Iain McInnes as I visualise him!... Hopefully, the profile song speaks (or should I say sings!) for itself... To listen to hospital protest song Cost Effective visit my other Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign site (top friends)................................... The following report was taken from the Bridlington Free Press a few weeks ago. For more updates on the hospital situation visit www.bridlingtonfreepress.co.uk or www.savebridlingtonhospital.co.uk .........................

Mr McInnes' time at trust
Published Date:
27 June 2008
By John Edwards.......
THE health trust's website says Iain McInnes began his career in nursing, and has worked in a range of clinical and management posts in Hull, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and Lincolnshire.
JULY 2006 – Chief executive Alison Guy stops working for Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Iain McInnes is brought in as interim chief executive.
DECEMBER 2006 – Ms Guy's resignation, along with that of finance director Bernard Flynn, is accepted.
APRIL 2007 – Mr McInnes is appointed chief executive on a permanent basis. He says he is looking forward to 'steering the trust forwards for some time yet to come'.
Ominously, he also says: "Change doesn't have to be worrying, and it shouldn't be seen as negative".
JUNE 2007 – Plans to stop births at Bridlington Hospital are revealed. Mr McInnes says a modern maternity unit at Scarborough will be safer.
JULY 2007 – He announces 600 jobs will be lost -a round a third of the workforce. After public uproar, this is later reduced to 50.
OCTOBER 2007 – A protest march to save services attracts 3,000 people. Mr McInnes declines an invitation to attend and address the crowds.
DECEMBER 2007 – Moves to shut the cardiac monitoring unit are announced. The chief executive insists safety not cost-cutting is the reason.
APRIL 2008 – A spanner in the works. Weeks after a 38,000-name petition against the cardiac cuts goes to Downing Street, health secretary Alan Johnson refers Mr McInnes' maternity plans to an independent review panel.
The cardiac proposals are later referred as well.
JUNE 2008 – Iain McInnes suddenly announces he is leaving for another job in the NHS.
The Free Press asks the trust what this position is, but no answer is given.
