The $hit is influenced by all the rubbish, watered-down music clogging up the pop charts, Radio 1, NME and the rest of the music industry... Everyone out there in Mongland listening to bands that are even more bland than the jeans and t-shirts that they wear, buying into the latest chillout compilation, hanging out in your local lifestyle bar, doing what the magazines tell you... All the people wasting away, working in chain stores for minimum wage, dreaming of sitting in front of the television, waiting for their lives to become interesting as the same videos come back around on MTV... All the reality TV idiots, searching for their 5 minutes of fame, desperate to become a Z list celebrity, begging and pleading for popularity in front of a live studio audience and allowing their hopes and dreams to be crushed by a forty-something in bad slacks... Oh, and everyone who uses the phrase "real music"...

You have made us what we are...

We're DIY pop stars, bitch!!!!!

Or alternatively, if you want a list of music we like...

MARILYN MANSON
POLYSICS
PLUS-TECH SQUEEZE BOX
PUBLIC ENEMY

   About The $hit
! replace nameText with image ! ! myspace code tutorials author:Eileen Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The $hit are the FIRST, BEST and ONLY Electro-Punk Casio-Crunk Fuck-Rock Glitch-Pop Disco-Metal Post-NintendoCore beat combo in the world... EVER!

Armed with an array of cheap electronic instruments and an even cheaper wardrobe, The $hit have dragged their shambolic live show kicking and screaming across the UK - from triumphantly storming Oxford's TRUCK FESTIVAL to causing chaos at a London fashion week catwalk show and generally kicking the brains off kids all over the country, destroying stages with the likes of MC LARS, TO MY BOY, TRASH FASHION, SIMON BOOKISH, and GOLDIE LOOKIN CHAIN, leaving a trail of tinnitus and a number of very unhappy soundmen in their wake.

Their first demo, recorded with only a minidisc player, an Argos mic and an Atari ST, was placed in the top 5 of PLAYLOUDER.COM's singles of the week, and future demos received radio airplay from RADIO 1 and KERRANG! FM. In the summer of 2006, their debut album 'Lock Up Your Ghettoblasters!!!' - recorded in a ramshackle home studio and released on their own DIY label - Shit Music - was released to rip-roaring reviews across the internet, national press and fanzines across the globe. Oh, apart from two people who hated it.

Now, as they release their new EP to the world, The $hit are rocking HARDER, FASTER and LOUDER than ever before, and the foursome of Brian International, Queen Phuz, That Bloody Cat, and... um... D@V£ are getting ready to absolutely pwn brains all over the world.

It's time to get with the program... before the program gets you.

"The $hit are the band to totally tear your life apart, rearrange everything
in the wrong order and have you thank them for the privilege afterwards." - Subba-Cultcha

"The $hit are the latest sound of 00's wasted youth." - Gigwise

"a black country discofauxpunk band with an arsenal of attitude" - Sleaze

"an arcade game ram-raid... all frantic beats, bleeps and fizzing riffs, Nintendocore pop, chants, yelps, bites, guitars and synth punk chaos" - Organ Magazine

"fun-filled mechanoid-spaz-rock" - Angry Ape

"a brutal mash-up of digital hardcore beats, cabaret disco and blinging hip
hop... there is not another band in the world like them" - Truck Festival Programme

"'Lock Up Your Ghettoblasters!!!' has arrived just in time to fulfil the so-called 'nu rave' prophecy, and is the cool party we all want to be invited to." - This Is Fake DIY

"Itchy rhythms, shouted vocals and a series of loveable little bleeps and blips" - MakeNoiseandDance

"...a grimy electro battering... a beatbox fuzz masterpiece" - Plan B

"The $hit are awesome in their majesty... above 99% of the bands i've seen"
- Drowned in Sound

"The $hit are the antithesis of the stale, lame, clueless guitar music that
clogs up the shelves at HMV. The $hit are the polar opposite of boring.
The $hit are completely unique" - Brainlove

"a brutal mish-mash of fuzz-punk yelping and gadget-based grime... utterly crackers, basically." - Is This Music?

"The $hit are putting the fun back into po-faced electro." - Logo

"This band is totally out-of-step with what's hip right now, they look like complete weirdos, and they're definitely more fun than whatever you're doing right now... THIS is what we need." - Diskant

"If you have room in your life for the pop of Stock, Aitken and Waterman, the lunacy of Sigue Sigue Sputnik and the chaos of Alec Empire - you'll love this.." - Rough Trade

"The $hit are amazing!" - bbc.co.uk

"The most exciting thing since I heard Atari Teenage Riot in 1994" - Brumcast

"The best band in Britain!" - Bishi

"You're my new favourite band!" - Patrick Wolf

You’re on Brumcast 100 ‘A Celebration’, This behemoth of a show features 50 tracks from Midlands based bands that have been played previously in one of the last 99 shows. Its not a 'Best of Brumcast' and the tracks are in no particular order. This is a (big) slice of some of the tracks that have given me much pleasure over the last 2 years. Some very difficult decisions were made in selecting the tracks for this landmark show. Please promote/plug/whore it!

Hi The $hit,
ATTENTION ALL ELECTRO ACTS IN THE MIDLANDS.

Connect 4 is going to compile a who's-who of midlands electro. To start it off we need to collect pictures and biog details.
At the next Connect 4 (May 8th, The Island Bar, Suffolk Street, B'ham) Candee Photography will be on hand to take pictures of any bands, DJs and artists who would like to be included. So if you're up for it, scribble your info down, put on your best togs and come along to the 8th May and look for the lady with the lens!
There's also a preview of the May 8th Show on Brumcast 96 ‘The Hills have Ears’.
