Bio
.. Shiver Like Timber is the musical moniker of Betony Dircks. She was born in Australia in the middle of nowhere, and spent her childhood riding horses, climbing trees and dreaming up strange colour combinations. In 2004-2008 she got herself a degree in fashion design, came up with the name "Shiver Like Timber" for her bedroom-written songs, recorded a self-titled E.P, took her Danelectro in her technicolour painted Citroen and toured Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and supported international acts such as Bill Callahan, Camera Obscura, Beirut and Patrick Wolf. The next year and a half was spent gallumphing around Europe, playing shows and swimming in lakes and the sounds coming out of her delay pedal. In London she recorded a second E.P. called "Arctic Esplanade" and started playing shows with Kate Uhe on Cello. In December 2009 she returned Australia, and is now scheming her debut album, which will be released in 2010 at some stage, when the moon is aligned with E.T's spaceship. this here is her video for 'the great escape of houdini and me'.... which was created by danny mcshane: .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
