Shiver Shiver is a collaboration between Chase Thornburg and Jordan Elsberry of Omaha, NE.
The music of Shiver Shiver, whether live or in the studio, creates an atmosphere of electrically charged anticipation, at once welcoming and brimming with a primal release.
Some have said that "Shiver Shiver's red-hot live show belies its frigid moniker"; others have said that Shiver Shiver "defies classification"; but one thing is certain: Shiver Shiver's charisma and raw magnetic energy are undeniable.
Chase's approach to the drums is relentless and uniquely instrumental, while Jordan's way with the keys is broad, orchestral and earthy. The duo possesses an uncanny vocal affinity. These elements merge to create a fresh musical identity of tight, thoughtful songwriting that is both catchy and complex, distinguished yet down-to-earth.
The two met in 2004. Until Chase moved away, he and Jordan cut their teeth playing jazz locally and regionally, producing two records of original material.
"When I got back from Chicago," Chase said, "Jordan and I started collaborating again and discovered that our love was for music at large."
Jordan continued: "Once we got loose of the constraints of genre, we were able to clear a space where we could create any music that felt natural to write and play together."
