A Novel by Brian Harper
A great book, extremely well written, exciting, entertaining! Brian Harper is the best at his genre by far. SHIVER has pace, plot, depth, style, builds tension. It’s the top 1 or 2 of my favorite books. Of the popular authors, I’ve read, J. Patterson, Koontz, Grisham, Sanders, etc. - Harper is the most polished by far. ’Shiver’ has style, gets your heart really racing. The characters have depth and they’re believable. Wendy’s heroics are great. I’d give it an 11.

The screenplay has been written by two time, Houston International Screenplay Film Festival winner, ROBERT WEINBACH who will be producing SHIVER. Weinbach’s screenplay of THE KILLER INSIDE ME based on the classic novel by acclaimed, noir, author, Jim Thompson won the Gold Award. His original screenplay JITTERBUG garnered the Best Dramatic Musical award.

"SHIVER" SCREENPLAY SYNOPSIS
Wendy Alden, a young, attractive secretary in Des Moines lacking in self-confidence and self-esteem becomes victim of a savage killer who has claimed the lives of a number of other women. Somehow Wendy finds the resources of courage to fight back and escape.
Obsessed with killing Wendy, Franklin Rood, the killer, penetrates a police cordon set up to guard her by Det. Terry Maguire, the detective investigating the case. Again, she manages to escape, earning not only Rood’s grudging respect, but his twisted sense of love. He later kidnaps her and brings her to his hideout in the woods where he subjects her to a frightening ritual of psychological intimidation. She is finally rescued and Rood is captured after Maguire succeeds in tracking the killer through a series of wily detection techniques.
In a diabolically daring and cunning plan, Rood escapes jail, killing several policemen in the process. Again, determined to kill Wendy and armed to the teeth, he storms into her office building. During a ferocious display of carnage, Rood is finally killed by Wendy who retrieves a slain security guard’s gun and shoots down the monster of her living nightmare. During the course of her odyssey, Wendy starts as a mouse, finally transforming into a lioness.

SHIVER is an exciting and terrifying thriller based on the highly praised novel
by acclaimed author, Brian Harper. There are currently over one million
copies of Brian Harper novels in circulation worldwide. The picture will be produced on location in and around Des Moines, Ia. Production
is anticipated to commence in fall 2008. Penguin-Signet
originally published the SHIVER novel. A republishing of the
novel as a film tie-in is planned once the film is announced for
production. The new Shiver film will be a welcome addition to the
millions of Brian Harper cult followers.
CAST
Producers are currently in talks with highly
recognizable acting talent who will become attached to
SHIVER subject to finalization of formal contracts.
Among the actors with significant, established fan
bases are:
ERICA LEERHSEN: Erica’s passion for playing the
"tour de force", starring role of Wendy in SHIVER is
equally shared by the producer's and director's
enthusiasm for Erica's amazing talent, appealing
vulnerablity, yet dynamic screen presence.
Erica’s screen credits include starring roles in
the box office smashes, "Blair Witch 2". the Texas
Chainsaw Massacre" remake, the Toronto Film Festival
hit, "Little Athens","Mozart and the Whale" the
independent thriller,"The Warrior Class" and the hit
film, "Wrong Turn 2" plus supporting roles
in the Woody Allen films, "Hollywood Ending" and
"Anything Else". Her TV appearances include, "The
Sopranos", "The Guardian", "Alias", "Ghost Whisperer"
and "CSI: Miami".
Leerhsen was further honored with the "Arrow in the
Head's Mistress of the Year Award in 2003" as well as
garnering excellent reviews in Woody Allen's play "A
Second Hand Memory".
In addition to landing the lead in “Shiver”, other
film projects scheduled for release in 2008 include
starring roles in "Lonely Joe", "Slaughter" and

KEITH CARRADINE: Academy Award winner, Keith
Carradine would portray the co-starring role of Lt.
Terry Maguire in SHIVER. Keith has starred in over
forty feature films and more than twenty cable
television and network television movies. Among his
credits are major roles in the Robert Altman
classics, "McCabe and Mrs. Miller", "Thieves Like Us"
and "Nashville". Carradine also starred in four
notable films directed by Altman protege, Alan
Rudolph.; "Welcome to L.A.," "Choose Me," "Trouble in
Mind" and "The Moderns".
Other memorable films include starring roles in
Ridley Scott's "The Duellists," Louis Malle's "Pretty
Baby," and Walter Hill's "The Longriders" and
"Southern Comfort.", plus "A Thousand Acres"
with Michelle Pfeiffer and Jessica Lange and "Two
Days In The Valley". Significant TV portrayals include the recurring role
of Wild Bill Hickock on HBO’s hit series, "Deadwood"
and Chief Of Detectives on the smash series,
"Dexter".
Carradine is also a Broadway star of the first
magnitude who created the leading role in "The Will
Rogers Follies, winner of six Tonys, including Best
Musical
For this smash Broadway hit, Keith was nominated for

BRAD DOURIF shares the belief of the producer and
director that he is the ideal actor to play the
showcase, co-starring role of the deranged killer,
Franklin Rood in SHIVER.
Dourif’s illustrious screen credits include Milos Forman’s "One Flew Over
The Cuckoo's Nest". Brad's portrayal of Billy Bibbit earned him a Golden Globe for Best Acting
Debut, a British Academy Award for Best Supporting
Actor, and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting
Actor. Other memorable film work includes "Eyes of Laura Mars", John Huston's "Wise Blood", Milos Forman's "Ragtime", David Lynch’s
films "Dune" and "Blue Velvet" and Peter Jackson's
"Lord of the Rings" trilogy as Grima Wormtongue.
Brad further portrayed significant roles in "Fatal

JOHNATHON SCHAECH would join the SHIVER team in the
pivotal role of Jeffrey Pellman, Wendy's boyfriend. A
highly accomplished actor, John studied at the Royal
Academy of Dramatic Art in London and the Actor's
Studio in New York.
Among Johnathon’s credits are the lead role in Franco
Zefferelli's
film, "Storia Di Una Capinera" as well as plum roles
in Jocelyn
Moorehouse's "How To Make An American Quilt" opposite
Winona Ryder and in Greg Araki's cult classic "The
Doom Generation".
Tom Hanks cast Johnathon as the lead rocker in
another cult
classic "That Thing You Do". John then played the
lead opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Lange in
the thriller "Hush". He Subsequently, worked with
Kenneth Branagh in "How To Kill Your Neighbor's Dog",
Harvey Keitel in "Finding Graceland " and Ray Winstone
& Guy Pearce in "Woundings". John then landed the
title role in Pen Densham's "Houdini "and recently
starred opposite Heather Locklear in Nora Robert's
"Angels Fall", seen by nearly 5 million
