I really like these. The horns on roundhouse remind me of those crazy sf homeless dudes--walking around muttering to themselves. Well done!

i don't know you but you're on my friends list, and i'm pretty sure i saw you outside of a michael hurley show a few months back. it's always uncomfortable when the internet seeps into real life, and similarly uncomfortable when the converse occurs.

Today is Tom Waits day, not because there's anything special, but because I say it is... therefore I'm going to go around posting Tom Waits Lyrics on people's pages... and you get:

The piano has been drinking
my necktie is asleep
and the combo went back to New York
the jukebox has to take a leak
and the carpet needs a haircut
and the spotlight looks like a prison break
cause the telephone's out of cigarettes
and the balcony's on the make
and the piano has been drinking
the piano has been drinking...

(LOCAL) Soupy, lyrical lo-fi indie folk ballads. Dark, gripping, melodically repetitive, and highly narrative small-town vignettes of the Tom Dooley school. Low energy throughout, with guitar and voice only.
FCC: 4, 7. Pick: 5

All songs are musically similar, so here are some Cliffs Notes:
1. 4:34 "The Priest & The Bride"
Tragic; Officiant falls in love with bride, is killed by mob.
2. 4:14 "The Fireman's Wife"
Tragic; Depressed fireman kills self, widow and detective meet, fall in love, and are poisoned by adopted kids.
3. 3:39 "Cowboy John"
Tragic; Heroic cowboy leaves town, narrator's daughter dies, narrator finds and kills cowboy for not saving his daughter.
4. (FCC ind.) 3:27 "House Carpenter"
Tragic; Carpenter's wife leaves, he sets their daughter to sea, looks for new wife.
*5. 2:51 "Jimmy Head"
Silly; Tired fellow meets bed-collector and compulsive liar.
6. 2:39 "I Drove My Car Into A Tree"
Dreamy; Narrator drives into a tree, muses, and drives home.
7. (FCC ind.) 4:29 "Want Some Rain"
Lazy and happy; Narrator learns ladie's-man-edness from the milkman.
8. 3:30 "The Drinker"
Dreamy; Disaffected man gets drunk, leaves bar, muses.
2. 4:14 "The Fireman's Wife"

Whoa, City Sesh redux.
Maybe Suze will buy you a Raspberry Stoli & diet coke with a twist of...weird Ethiopian cabbage? You'll actually have to play "Suzanne". Just change the lyrics to "then I fell in love with her fake meat burrito." People will dig your vibe. Ethiopian people, that is.
