Shocktrauma Studios is the home for one of the most eclectic group of comic book creators in the industry. At one time or another, a SHOCKTRAUMANAUT has worked for every major comic book publisher and we have HARVEY, EISNER and EAGLE award nominees and winners. Our latest claim to fame was when Max Riffner won the ISOTOPE AWARD For Excellence in Mini Comics for his masterful story, QUICK STEPS. We are artists, writers, inkers, colorists and letterers. Phil Hester Phil is an Eisner nominated creator who lives in rural Iowa with his wife and two children. He began working in comics while attending the University of Iowa. He graduated with a BFA in drawing and minors in sculpture and painting. He was worked for nearly every major publisher in comics. Phil's past work includes (writing and penciling) SWAMP THING, DETECTIVE, THE CROW, WALKING NIGHTMARES, THE COFFIN, THE WRETCH, THE CREEPER, ULTIMATE MARVEL TEAM-UP, BRAVE OLD WORLD, FRINGE, RUST, NAMOR, TABOO, THE PICTURE TAKER, GREEN ARROW, CLERKS, NIGHTWING, THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN and many more. He is currently also working on THIRTEEN STEPS at Desperado.
Ande Parks is a multi-talented creator who has graced the pages of SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, CATWOMAN, FEAR AGENT, THE EXTERMINATORS, GREEN ARROW, THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN and many others. He often finds himself inking fellow SHOCKTRAUMANAUT, Phil Hester. He has been critically acclaimed for his writing. Projects like UNION STATION and CAPOTE IN KANSAS have found great success and fantastic reviews, not to metion plenty of comic industry award nominations. A big fan of golf, he can usually be found on the course when not drawing or writing.

Aaron Gillespie Aaron lives and works in Iowa City, Iowa with his wife and son. He recently worked on BIG Q: BUTTER SANDWICH with fellow shocktraumanaut Phil Hester which can be found in the pages of Negative Burn #12.
Fredd Gorham Fredd is a native Iowa artist who immigrated to Omaha, Nebraska in 1992 . Passionate about comics, his first work was for Caliber Press on the series, THE FRINGE. He has worked on various comics as an assistant to Phil Hester and has worked in the gaming industry (Hero Games, Reaper, Six Stones, Steve Jackson Games) . He is well known for his web design skills and currently, he is working on a politically charged mini-series to be released in 2008 called NO OTHER GODS with fellow SHOCKTRAUMANAUT Chuck Satterlee and legendary comic writer Brian Augustyn.
Bruce McCorkindale Bruce is the owner/operator of the wildly successful commercial entity ACTION IMPULSE STUDIOS, where he is widely known for his commercial design work and animation. His most notable work of late was pencilling and inking HERETIC for Markosia, writing/illustrating a story for NEGATIVE BURN, and inking the King himself in THE JACK KIRBY COLLECTOR. His comicography is long and distinguished. He has worked for nearly every major publisher in one fashion or another over the years. Some of his past works include: DINOSAURS FOR HIRE, STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE, BLACK ORCHID, THE NAMELESS, FOOTSOLDIERS, RUNE VS. VENOM, and THE FALLING MAN. He also lives in Omaha.
Max Riffner Max Riffner recently won the coveted ISOPTOPE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MINI COMICS for his work on QUICK STEP. He is a major creative force at one of the most influential advertising agencies in the country. He has created, writeen, drawn, colored and lettered his first graphic novel called GOLDEN BOY and he is currently working on his next OGN, THE CRIPPLER'S SON as well as a crime mini-series called THE GRINDER...soon to be found online.
Brook Turner Brook is another Iowan who lives in Des Moines with his wife and two children. Currently he is working on his first major work with Phil Hester as he pencils and inks the upcoming IMAGE Comics series, GOLLY!. Colin Wales Colin is a writer/artist with published work in titles such as THE WRETCH, HOLY TERROR, FOOTSOLDIERS and FRINGE. He is apparently not a big fan of writing about himself in the third person if you read his bio on the SHOCKTRAUMA website.
John Warren John Warren lives in New York and has been published in such titles as HOLY TERROR, STARCHY and NUTS AND BOLTS.
Jim Woodyard Jim Woodyard began his comic inking career in 1990 on Fringe for Caliber Press. Over the last decade Woodyard has inked numerous titles which include Steel Angel, Flyboys, The Foot Soldiers, The Wretch, The Crow: Waking Nightmares, Big Bang Comics and The Holy Terror. He is currently working with his brother, John Warren, on their creator owned series Nuts & Bots. Woodyard lives in Iowa with his wife and young son. Mike Worley Mike is an experienced creator who came up in the old DC new talent showcase. He has worked for every major publisher including titles such as: ARCHIE, REN & STIMPY, PHANTOM 2040, MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS, MIDNIGHT SONS UNLIMITED, THE PICTURE TAKER, THE WRETCH, THUNDER GIRL, SIMPSON'S COMICS and many many more. He is also a devout Christian.
