Shock Dance

Who I'd like to meet:

SHOCK DANCE STAFF: Misti Columbus; Jamie Lane; Asia Rogers; Hanna Schoelen -Director Misti Columbus- Misti is the fresh new face currently directing Shock Gym. Misti was recently handed the reins of Shock's wonderful cheer program with the extravagant idea to launch an amazing new dance program as well. Misti started her dance training at a very young age in jazz, ballet, cheer, hip hop, & pom. She danced competitively through her youth, & then went on to cheer competitively with Highland East when she reached Jr.High. In highschool, Misti put her dance shoes back on and became a member of Moore Highschool Pom Squad. As a member & captain, she brought home numerous awards & titles such as: 4th runner-up State soloist OSTDTA, 2x All American recipent, 3x National champion, All-region & All-state recipient, Top-gun hip hop recipent- NDA elite camp, as well as bringing home the team State title OSTDTA '01-'02. Misti furthered her dance career in college where she was a member of UCO's pom squad all 4 years & was a captain her senior year. She was also a one year member of Kaliediscope Dance Program. During & after that time, Misti was an instructor & head instructor for NDA, a coach for Mustang Highschool & Highland East Jr.High. When Area Football was introduced, Misti became one of the first members of Yard Dawgz Dance Team. Now that Misti has practically experienced every level of competitive dance in the state of Oklahoma, she hopes to inspire & train the next generation of great dancers.************************************** -Jamie Lane- Dancing since the age of 3, Jamie was originally trained in competitive jazz, ballet, lyrical, pointe, tap, & hip hop at All That Dance under Linda Mouser. As a freshman in highschool, Jamie moved on to train under former OU pom captain, Penny Vinson-Capps at The Pointe Performing Arts Center. In addition to competitive dance, Jamie was also a member of the Moore Pom squad who brought home the State title in 2001-02. During her highschool dance career Jamie won numerous individual awards & titles including but not limited to: 1st runner-up State Soloist OSTDTA, 4th runner-up National Soloist, 3rd runner-up OU State soloist; All Region & All State recipient, top ten leaps & turns-NDA Elite camp, Encore Nationals scholarship recipient ,& 2 yr All American nominee. Following highschool, Jamie furthered her dance career in the city of Chicago,IL. There she was a member of Graffiti Dance Co. Graffiti is known to make weekly appearances at over 20 downtown clubs as well as movie premiers, CD release parties, & celebrity guest parties. Jamie was also blessed with the amazing opportunity to attend the Justin Timberlake dance crew convention held at the Hyatt in downtown Chicago during the Crazy, Sex, Love Grooves Tour. There she learned choreography under the current artistic director for Justin Timberlake, Marty Kudelka. She also trained under "So you Think You Can Dance's", Nick Bass, Mariah Carey's choreographer, Eddie Morales,"Dreamgirls" dance choreographer Skye Huffman, along with JT's entire dance crew. Jamie has also taught & choreographed for two major Chicago studios. Now that she has returned home, she hopes to bring all that she has learned in the big city, & make an impact on our own Oklahoma dancers.************** -Hanna Schoelen- Hanna's dance training began at Modern Dance Arts of Norman. Hanna has trained for 7 years in all areas of dance including jazz, ballet, modern, & hip hop. Hanna continued dancing in highschool as a member of Norman Varsity Pom Squad. As a college student, Hanna joined the Shock staff, & began coaching pom, cheer, tumbling, & special needs children. Hanna has also choreographed highschool half-time routines, as well as highschool pom tryouts & OU sorority skits.
