About Shoddy Merchandise Records

I know we’ve been suspiciously silent as of late, but that’s just ‘cause we’ve been busy. Really busy. The Swede has been hard at work, creating his next record to be released sometime in the near future. No dates are set as of yet, but believe me, he’s been slaving away to get it completed by the fall. Don’t lose faith in us just yet, folks! Keep checking the myspace page for updates as we make them. Pants! Shoddy Merchandise is a record label hailing from North Carolina. Originally started in 1996 in Danbury, CT as the dubiously spelled "Shotty Merchandise", the label amassed a catalog of three releases, notably two Vinyl only ep's for Connecticut instrumental quartet "Daybed" in 1998, and 1999 respectively. Always eager to add more clutter to our closets, 2006 sees the resurrection of the label under the new banner "Shoddy Merchandise LLC" in it's new home of "The Triangle" NC. All cozy and ready to be bought, so please do so. Check out our blog to read the latest reviews of "and the Swede." We got lazy about putting up them fancy-type links you see below, so for now, you'll have to actually go into the blogs to read them.
