She can compose traditional music to satisfy the most conservative church-goers. Then blend secular music with gospel on a track that make the young generation get their praise on. At the drop of a dime, Ms. English can complete this task from start to finish. She sings, just as thoroughly as she conceived the concept and labored over the format, she effectively delivers her gift to the listener. Shonda has proved that she is capable of hanging with the best of the the best in her genre. A self-taught performer in every right since the age of four, she has paid her dues. Sharing the stage with gospel music’s most elite; including Shirley Caesar, The Jackson Southernaires, The Sensational Nightingales, Margaret Allison and the Angelic Gospel Singers, Donald Lawrence and Tri-City, Ricky Dillard and New G, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson, Doc McKenzie & The Hi-lites, and many more.

1988 - Made debut as vocalist and composer on first recording of Bishop W. T. English and the BEEA Crusade Choir’s debut LP, “Launch Out”
1988-1991- Received formal vocal training under the instruction of Sonja Sepulveda
1992- Recorded first album, Shonda & Discoveries of SC featuring four groups, including Great Jubilation
1993- Became Minister of Music at Greater St. Paul, still serves.
1993- Opening act for Stellar Award winner Ricky Dillard and the New Generation Chorale of Chicago, IL
1995- Opening act for Stellar and Grammy winner Donald Lawrence & Tri-City
1997- Recorded 2nd album, “The Only Way to Fly” w/Great Jubilation in Columbia, SC
1998- Recorded, produced, directed, and composed material for the Combined Choir of Greater St. Paul’s LIVE at the Opera House CD.
1999- Performed live on stage with Shirley Caesar and the Caesar Singers
1998 -2000 - Served as vocal instructor and musician for the University of South Carolina’s Gospel Chorale
2001- Received Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from USC-Spartanburg
2002- Featured artist at Annual Music Heritage and Jazz Festival in New Orleans along with Great Jubilation

A LOVE Everyday in my loneliness, I pray for a love. A Love that can be only found in the spirit. A love that can only be born in Christ Jesus. A love that stands through storms. A love that wont walk away, because am not perfect. A love that will hold my hand, walking in the gaudiness of the love, of Christ Jesus. A love that I can look upon,, and thank thy Lord God, for his blessing in my life. A love that, I can feel warming me in cold. Cooling me in heat. A love that want judge my begs of disappointments, but help me to empty them. A love that, I can feel the silk of love, upon my hands and body. A love that, I can touch in my spirit with a kiss, of passion. A love that is two, but as one in flesh, made one in spirit with thy Lord my God. A love, that is flesh of my flesh, bone on my bone. For we are not of this world but made one with Christ Jesus. Standing as servents of God.
My Love As, I go on my day morning, evening, our night: My heart longs to love in a way, that can only be seen by the spirit and in the spirit. A love of passion of the spirit, that can only be kissed in the spirit. A making of love that comes together as beautiful clouds, in a blue sky. Making my flesh to long for the smell of heaven: up on her hair, her skin, and her words that sing a beautiful song: of our flesh becoming one.
But my heart sits in loneliness waiting for my love, that will come together in my spirit as one flesh. A love that brings fruit of trust, that will do me no harm. A love that stetcheth out her hand to the poor. A love were: I can sit among the elders of the land. A love that comes from her mouth with wisdom: and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
A love were,no wilderness, no waves of strife, our the wildest winds of life; Shall not break the love of the spirit and by the spirit of thy Lord God. For his word says; That we receive the spirit which is of God: that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. I wait, in my loneliness for her, with thy Lord God. In the Spirit When, I was man in the world,I was a child: I new not the things of the spirit of you. You began to walk with me and talk with me. As I allowed your love to flow through, and live in me. I began to now the power of your spirit: I could love a women, but your power, of your spirit: allowed me to see in them. No longer having the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God. A spirit that began to judge: having the mind of Christ:

In death: I faint not A stone in my life, has fallen, her earthly body has dissolved. She has been a building of my life, toward you Lord God. When, I could not hear you; she was the voice of you. When, I new not of prayer, she was the gospel of your word. When, I was troubled, distressed, and persecuted: And it began to take me over. She was the light; of you in my darkness.
As, I stand hear as a decedent of what she placed in me. I humble my self to you Lord God: thanking you for the light of the seed that she placed in me of you. A seed, that became your light that shines of your glory. A seed that allowed me to walk with you, talk with you and now the wisdom of your love.
For in your love: knowing that he, which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also. That we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen. For we now that our earthly body is to dissolve. We have a clothing of God: That we should not be found naked. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Giving me a ministry , and mercy, that, I will faint not; That as the out ward man perish, the inward man is renewed day by day. In your Love.. Lord God, I have met someone.. Someone who has entered in to a place in my heart, were you our. Someone, I love with the love you have given me: As Christ also loved the church, and giving his self for it. Loving her, as I love my on body- Giving her honor for the women she is in you Lord God.
Lord God, you speak to me about her- about the things of her spirit and her life. For in your word you said: For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. My God: you our the head of Christ, for from you all wisdom is revealed: And Christ is the head of me.
I pray everyday in my heart and out of my month, that we will be able to be cleansed in your word. So that we can be a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such things: but that it should be holy and without blemish. Joined together as two, that we should come together as one flesh.

When, I meant you: You took me in, as one of your own: Placing your arms around me. Your love began to change me. Making me, molding me, teaching me- with the love of your heart. And now, I feel, I stand along in this world, because of the love, you have poured inside of me. Making me different, then what is in the world, not being a man of sex but being a man of love.
Only to be a victim to the one who searches for love: Being inside of you, I search not for love but for a completeness of me in this world: When I was a young man you separated me, you put me to sleep and took a part me. And know, I search for completeness of me in this world- falling, stumbling: praying to you Lord God to lead and guide me to her. To find the lips that our one with my lips, hands that fit inside my hands: flesh that is one with my flesh: A spirit that is one with you for me, knees that bend with my knees in honor of you Lord God.
For when my lips touch her lips my flesh touch her flesh and our spirit twine we become the image of you Lord God, and know: I am complete in this world. For it is far greater to be blessed in your image, then the reaches of flesh of the world.
