My interests are art. My interests were collecting mermaid figurines, art, dolls, movies, anything. I also have interests in Alaskan artwork. I was in Alaska for a few months and it is just so beautiful there. The high mountains, mooses, bears, all the artic animals, the northern lights, the snow, the waters, and of course the people the eskimos. The place is so beautiful and like a dream. Alaska was a different place to be at it changes your whole mindset. My sister lives in Alaska and I will be going back again.

My favorite movies are the titanic, benchwarmers, kill bill, scary movie 4 and a time to kill an absolute good movie everyone should see. A time to kill is a very well made movie it tells of the lives of blacks and whites so very different and are treated differently. There is a time for everything it shows how all the blacks got together against a racist group and how a white and black family change their views about each other. The saying I like in this movie is I just wanted our children to play together very touching. You know blacks do need to get together and do something that can help each other instead of hurting one another. All this violence of gangs drugs killing each other is in vain we need to stop it now and while that is happening others on the side lines are just laughing at us seeing us tear each other apart. They're thinking we don't need to do anything just let them tear each other apart. This right here hurts me its ashamed what is happening to us no matter what age you are or if you're rich or poor we need to help not hurt one another we are brother's and sisters and money has nothing to do with us sticking together. Some of our brothers and sisters think they're much more than other blacks or much less this is not true. Love. I also like the movie Roots, which was a true story. It is true for most of the blacks here. I loved the movie Hairspray so fantastic. Evan Almighty. Anything true, funny, or mind blowing I love it. I also want to act on things I say. I want to change lives one day and one person at a time.

here is a poem for you to read
What if there were
no Black people in the world?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a story of a little boy named Theo, who woke up one morning and asked God, "What if there were no Black people in the world?"
Well, God, thought about that for a moment and then said, "Son, follow me around today and let's just see what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world. Get dressed and we will get started."
Theo ran to his room to put on his clothes and shoes. But there were no shoes, and his clothes were all wrinkled. He looked for the iron, but when he reached for the ironing board, it was no longer there. You see Sarah Boone, a Black woman, invented the ironing board and Jan E. Matzelinger, a Black man invented the shoe lasting machine.
"Oh well," God said, "Go and do your hair." Theo ran in his room to comb his hair, but the comb was not there. You see, Walter Sammons, a Black man, invented the comb. Theo decided to just brush his hair, but the brush was gone. You see Lydia O. Newman, a Black female invented the brush.
Well, he was a sight, no shoes, wrinkled clothes, hair a mess without the hair care inventions of Madam C. J. Walker, -- well, you get the picture. God told Theo, "Let's do the chores around the house and then take a trip to the grocery store."
Theo's job was to sweep the floor. He swept and swept and swept. When he reached for the dustpan, it was not there. You see, Lloyd P. Ray, a Black man, invented the dustpan. So he swept his pile of dirt over in the corner and left it there. He then decided to mop the floor, but the mop was gone. You see, Thomas W. Stewart, a Black man, invented the mop.
Theo thought to himself, "I'm not having any luck." "Well, son," God said. "We should wash the clothes and prepare a list for the grocery store." When he was finished, Theo went to place the clothes in the dryer, but it was not there. You see, George T. Samon, a Black man, invented the clothes dryer. Theo got a pencil and some paper to prepare the list for the market, but noticed that the pencil lead was broken, as well he was out of luck because John Love, a black man, invented the pencil sharpener. He reached for a pen, but it was not there because William Purvis, a Black man, invented the fountain pen. As a matter of fact, Lee Burridge invented the type writing machine, and W. A. Lavette, the printing press.
So they decided to head out to the market. Well, when Theo opened the door, he noticed the grass was as high as he was tall. You see the lawnmower was invented by John Burr, a Black man.
They made their way over to the car and found that it just wouldn't go. You see, Robert Spikes, a Black man, invented the automatic gear shift and Joseph Gammel invented the supercharge system for internal combustion engines.
They noticed that the few cars that were moving were running into each other and having wrecks because there were no traffic signals. You see, Garrett A. Morgan, a Black man invented the traffic light.
Well, it was getting late, so they walked to the market, got their groceries and returned home. Just when they were about to put away the milk, eggs and butter, they noticed the refrigerator was gone. You see, John Standard, a Black man, invented the refrigerator. So they put the food on the counter.
By this time, they noticed it was getting mighty cold. Theo went to turn up the heat and what do you know, Alive Parker, a Black female, invented the heating furnace. Even in the summer time they would have been out of luck because Frederick Jones, a Black man, invented the air conditioner.
It was almost time for Theo's father to arrive home. He usually took the bus, but there was no bus because its precursor was the electric trolley, invented by another Black man, Elbert T. Robinson. He usually took the elevator from his office on the 20th floor, but there was no elevator because Alexander Miles, a Black man, invented the elevator. He usually dropped off the office mail at a nearby mailbox, but it was no longer there because Phillip Downing, a Black man, invented the letter drop mailbox and William Barry invented the postmarking and canceling machine.
Theo sat at the kitchen table with his head in his hands. When his father arrived he asked, " Why are you sitting in the dark?" Why?? Because Lewis Howard Latimer, a Black man, invented the filament within the light bulb.
Theo quickly learned what it would be like if there were no Black people in the world.
Not to mention if he were ever sick and needed blood. Charles Drew, a Black scientist, found a way to preserve and store blood which led to his starting the world's first blood bank.
And what if a family member had to have surgery. This would not have been possible without Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, a Black doctor, who performed the first open heart surgery.
So if you ever wonder, like Theo, where we would be without Blacks? Well, it's pretty plain to see, we could very well still be in the dark!!!
IF YOU GAINED ANY INSIGHT FROM THIS, PLEASE PASS IT ON SO THAT OTHERS MAY KNOW.
Heroes
All military who have fought in all wars in the US. Veterans, soldiers who have given their lives. Soldiers who gave their lives for their friend thats the greatest love a friend can give. A true friend would help you no matter if you're down or up no matter if you're rich or poor, in good times and bad.
I think people everyone should know about black history every month not just February. February is the shortest month of the year so black history month will be over before you know it. Blacks are the ones who created alot of inventions for america. They made the refrigerator, the stop lights brush, anything you see out there blacks made it thats why you cannot forget about them because there work is every where. So if you dont know please read up on black history.
It [prejudice] is such a waste. It makes you logy and half-alive. It gives you nothing. It takes away.

Im Roshondra Im 23 years old. I love art alot. There are many different kinds of art. Im a caregiver for now but my real goal is to keep working on early childhood education and also to design my own clothing this is one of my dreams. Some things get in my way to block my dreams but I can't let it. Its been a hard road. I have my family and a few friends but most of the time I'm by myself as in hanging out with people. I don't know who truly are my friends but I know God loves me and he stays the same in love, not like people who changes all the time. I love working with children, I love my family, I love going to church, I love art, I love to cook, I love to design. These are my passions. Some people just don't understand me or my ideas. They put me off. If they stay longer they could find out more about me in a positive way. I have a vision on leading a happy life, but it takes one day at a time and listening to God. I have a purpose and I want to change people's hearts who have made them cold or hardened it. Im a friendly and nice person but it seems like thats not what people want now. The world has change and will continue to change until the end. When God comes this will be a change throughout eternity and everyone will know who God is.
There isn't an end to knowledge. This is some black history for you in case you didn't know.
St. Augustine said "An unjust law is no law at all"
The day when segregation is over everywhere in schools too. Where black and white children can go to school together. Well some of that has happened. Not all of segregation is over not all hate is over. People rather have darkness than light people would rather Hate their brothers and sisters then to ever love. When will this day come? Some people say that day is not today. The government is spending 5 times more for a white child to go to school than for an education for a black child. That's ashamed. I turn my back against that. When will it end?? When is that day gonna come? The time for justice the time for freedom the time for equality is ALWAYS, ALWAYS RIGHT NOW!!!
I think fighting with words of power like Martin Luther King Jr. did can get through to a person more than the power of a fist, but there is a time for everything. In different times and different situations there is a time for different things and different ways to do things.
White slave masters use to try and put the fear in black slaves, not to kill them but to let them know who was the master and so they can be useful for future breeding. More work more slaves right?
Willy Lynch-a vicous slave owner from the West Indies. Slave masters in Virginia had trouble controlling their slaves, so they sent for Mr. Lynch to teach them his methods of controlling the slaves.
The word "Lynching" came from his last name.
His methods were very simple, but they were diabolical.
Diabolical means wicked, evil, of or lilke the devil; having to do with sorcery.
Keep the slave physically strong, but psychologically weak and depending on the slave master. Keep the body, take the mind.
Black leaders, teachers, a guide, anyone who wants to help you to do whats right. They help you find, take back, and keep your righteous mind.
When you hear the word lynching this is what it means torture them till they're almost dead.
I hope you learned something. This is why you hear black people talk about slavery and how white slave masters treated their ancestors it is WRONG! It is UNHUMAN, AND NOT OF GOD.
WE ARE ALL CREATED EQUAL IN GOD'S EYES. REMEMBER THAT.
LIKE DOROTHY DANDRIDGE SAID HATE AND PREJUDICE ONLY MAKES YOU SUFFER AND HALF ALIVE...LISTEN TO DC TALK'S SONG "FREE AT LAST" ABOUT MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AND FREEDOM...WE WILL NEVER BE FREE FROM THIS WORLD TILL GOD TAKES US UP TO A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO PREJUDICE AT ALL...GOD DIDN'T MAKE US THE SAME...LOVE COMES IN MANY DIFFERENT COLORS SHAPES AND SIZES...ADMIT IT CAUSE IT'S ALL TRUE WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!...IF YOU DON'T CELEBRATE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR'S BIRTHDAY YOU SHOULD START NOW ITS NOT JUST FOR BLACKS ITS FOR EVERYONE...BLACK HISTORY MONTH WILL BE COMING UP JUST BECAUSE ITS THE SHORTEST MONTH FOR BLACK HISTORY DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULDN'T CELEBRATE IT...ITS JUST SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WERE SLICK IN GIVING US A SHORT MONTH BUT WHO SAID FEBRUARY WAS THE MONTH WE "HAD TO" CELEBRATE IT...WHEN PEOPLE START TELLING ME WHO I AM AND HOW IM SUPPOSE TO LOOK AND WHEN PEOPLE START CREATING PLANETS AND UNIVERSES LET ME KNOW...GOD IS THE CREATOR SO YOU AND WHOEVER ELSE DON'T HAVE A RIGHT TO TELL ME WHO AND WHAT I CAN BE...I am Roshondra and my name means Beautiful as a rose...from North Chicago No Chi, Illinois. I am 23 years old. First Iam a Christian. I love Jesus Christ and nothing else matters to me. You should like me for who I am. I am a teacher. I grew up in this small town. I love art doing art. I am working on a play which I call "Changin it Around". Really good. I am producing this play and directing it. I have writer's block right now. I love to sing. I love to write. I was in concert choir touring Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York City. We toured New York City April 2001 for a week. It's crazy a few months before 9/11. I still can't believe it, we sang at the statue of liberty a big audience. I love the color purple. I love paintball games, basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis, ice skating, rollerbladding, sledding. I lived in Alaska for a few months. I really loved it there. I know it snows in Chicago but Alaska was the most beautiful place I ever been to be covered with snow. I met some really special people I won't forget. It was winter wonderland for me. I love to dance. I really love to cook and bake anything is my specialty. I don't hate anyone I love no matter what they did it will make a better life for me and others especially if you smile. Think of things God has did for you or wants you to do for Him. Hate will only make chances for me to get a ticket to Hell and thats not where I want to go. Praying does so much. So dont be afraid to write to me. Im really a cool person. I dont talk to the point where it doesnt make since anymore. I talk when I can help people and it can also help myself. Also, Im quiet but not to the point where people can walk all over me I say what I have to say to stay a way from people who try to harm me hurt me. Im a good person and one day want to make it to Heaven. No one owns the world no one makes it turn but God. Life doesn't have to be a hassle, stressful, depressing, God is in control not man! He created life for us to enjoy not to be pushed or pulled around by others but He also made free will. Evil people think its okay to do wrong to others to make things worse but they dont know and if they know they aren't listening to the call. Everyone has a chance in God's eyes He calls everyone but you have to heed the call take it. That's what I'm trying to do. Everyone has a purpose a reason in life its up to you to choose who you will serve what will you do before its too late. So do I. God is coming back soon. Its a reminder for us to get ready.
Who I'd like to meet: I would like to meet a guy who is funny honest nice fun to be around someone I can trust. Someone cute and has a nice smile and someone with some of the same interests. If you want someone who's extra perfect no flaws go to another planet. No one here on earth is that perfect, sorry. I'm the one with flaws, so pass my profile up because I'm not perfect.
I'd like to meet M.L. King Jr., Harriet Tubman, My grandfather who I never met. Read my blog which is called I'm Proud. It's talking about my own brother and sister who are and were soldiers.
