Wow, the bike group mentioned below sounds amazing. But after that you are all pumped up and ready for some whiskey shots & rowdy southern rock, kid rock and other drinking songs, oh and pathetic country songs about the wife leaving, dog dying etc, and of course lots of trucker anthems, then join me at:
Hey! I'm starting a "bike gang" called "Aaaaaaa!!!!" It involves riding around in a (big) group and screaming at the top of our lungs at random occasions such as being passed by a car, seeing a pedestrian, seeing other cyclists, etc.. At some point we'll have patches silk screened with "The Scream" (the painting). Weee! That's the extent of it.
If you're interested, I'm thinking of trying to launch a ride from the top of the Culture Dome parking lot (Tattered Cover, Twist & Shout, Neighborhood Flix, etc) on Colfax and Elizabeth this Saturday, the 5th at "closing time" (11 p.m.)
Screaming our way down a parking garage is fun, but not if we actually freak out nice ol' ladies.

Please join BITCH publisher Debbie Rasmussen for a participatory discussion about how - and whether - feminism can become a transformative movement for social change.
* How can we drive attention to the power, privilege and marginalization that continue to play out in feminist communities and how can those of us with power and priviledge become effective, genunine allies to those without it?
* How can we collectively create an independent feminist media - justice movement that doesn't rely on white supremacy, class privelege and economic exploitation?
* Can the idea of "feminism" shift to foreground an uncompromising, transformative commitment to systemic social change or is it time to evolve to new language?
