$hort Changed got their start back in May 2002. Then called F.H.A. (Future Homeless of America), the line-up included Shipwreck and Ben, as well as two members of Midnightmare, Cannonball and Jetson. Only one show was played as F.H.A. at The Grange Box, which would later become the $hort Changed practice space. Shipwreck moved to Boston, but not before he and Ben recorded 17 songs as a two-piece.
After returning in December 2004, they found Lunchbox who worked with Shipwreck at Tower Records and Cannonball returned. The $.c. line-up was set and they recorded their first demo with John the Baker. They began playing Bay Area shows on a regular basis at places like Burnt Ramen and Haz-Mat, as well as going on two West Coast tours. In late 2006 they recorded 19 songs with Greg Wilkinson [Brainoil, Lana Dagales, I Will Kill You Fucker] who has worked with Born/Dead, & Acts Of Sedition.
In early 2007 $hort Changed parted ways with Cannonball and went into hibernation organization mode. They got a van and also mixed the songs they completed with Greg. At that time, they recorded 6 new songs. At this time Swill took over bass duties for the session, as well as another West Coast tour and multiple Bay Area shows, before abruptly departing. It was then that Franz [Wendol, Lung Butter] immediately offered to fill the spot.
In early 2008, after releasing the 'Burn Down Wagon Town' 7" (Pyrate Punx Records/Goat Power Recreation) Evil Ben made the decision to leave the band. Jetson [Dolph Lundgren] was approached by Shipwreck and in a strange twist of coincidence, returned to the band that he sang in the original incarnation of, this time playing drums. We then embarked on the Crews Cruise 08 West Coast Tour w/Fistifucks, Cyanide Destruct, & Zabaleen
June of 2008 $.C.went back to Ear Hammer studios with Greg Wilkinson once again and recorded tracks for our full length which is in the process of almost being sent to the mastering facility so we can hopefully release it soon. Then Franz abrubtly left to pursue cooking and Wendol. (S)will filled in for a little bit so that Broadside could get up to speed and now he is. Then we went on tour and our drummer quits when we get back. The layout to our full length is almost done so it should be out soon...
