The Short Cropped Story...
Let’s try to keep the band history short, since nobody reads it anyway…
It all started somewhere in 2004, when Giel (our previous bassplayer) played in a small R&R band. He started to hang out with Roel(who plays guitar nowadays), and they started playing some songs together. They changed the whole style into Oi!, and made the sound more aggressive. The search for a new drummer was completed when they asked Bjorn to come over and play with them. He never played drums before, but they gave it a try anyway. Later, at a local gig we asked Teun to join us, since he already had experience as a singer before. Then we finally had a full line up. In 2005 we decided to record a demo cd, called 'Crop Number One', wich was recorded in a garage for 50euro. You can imagine how that must have sounded… We made that demo just to get us started, to spread the name Short Cropped into the scene. We played some gigs in Belgium, some local pubs, and in the famous Kastelein. Back in those days, the band was just an excuse to get together and drink a lot of beer every rehearsal.
In 2006, Giel decided to leave the band. His interests changed, playing in Short Cropped wasn’t much fun for him anymore, so he dicided to leave us. We tried to find another bass player, and had 1 gig in Germany with Niels (After The Fire) and another gig later with Julle (Vargtas). It didn’t work out like we wanted, so Teun took over the bass guitar, wich resulted in our current line-up.
In march 2007 we decided to record a full cd. We recorded ‘When The Going Gets Tough…’ in one weekend. There were some problems with the mixing, so it took long before we could release the album, but in September2007 it finally arrived. A brand new cd, containing 13 tracks . Early 2008, we also made a vinyl version of the cd (available at Fence Shitter Records). We also recorded a song for a tribute to Ken McLellan & Brutal Attack.
So this is where we are now: Teun at the bass, Roel at the guitar, Bjorn at the drums.

We went into the studio again a while ago, to record a brand new full-cd. The cd will contain 13 tracks (12+1 Short Cropped style cover)
We also recorded a song for a tribute to The Opressed (The Opressed? huh? yeah, haha) wich we hope will come out later on this year!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!Short Cropped will be playing at the Kuggnäs Festival in Sweden this summer!
