About me: Hey everyone, my name is Yeon-Hee and I am currently a student at the University of Washington in Seattle. I love the sound of rain, the feel of music, the taste of tiramisu, and the smell of a good cup of coffee. If you’ve known me for a while, you probably remember me as that crazy little snare drummer girl that could out-drum the boys. My drumming still brings all the boys to the yard, but in my other lives I earn my keep as a timbalera in an afro-Cuban jazz orchestra, a drumline instructor, a linguist, and a Swede… I could teach you, but I’d have to charge.
People that don’t know me very well probably see me as quiet and shy, but I like to think I’m pretty fun to be around once you get to know me. I fill conversations with sounds and hand gestures because sometimes they work better than words. I’m pretty laid back and accepting, but still pretty traditional. I value culture… all kinds of culture. If I could have one semi-superpower, it would be to know how to speak every language in the world and have knowledge of each culture. It would be nice to be able to understand how the world works and how to make it better. I do a lot of thinking.
I value my friends and family above most everything else in the world… and it’s really a shame when distance separates us.
I’m quirky & sometimes random with a pointed sense of humor that is blunt/borderline sarcastic. Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether I’m trying to be sarcastic or not. Sometimes I feel like I never quite mastered the art of voice intonation, thus I hate leaving voicemails… but I do what I can.
