About me:
Shortstaxx: Performer. Actress. Burlesquer. Writer. Singer. Fun-lover. Animal Lover. Progressive. Feminist.
As Shortstaxx, i perform burlesque after training with the award-winning burlesque/vaude/acrobat duo Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey.
Member of the Washington DC-based experimental/ physical theater company Theatre du Jour for 9 years. Founded by B. Stanley and George Kaperonis in 1982, TDJ trains regularly. Physical and vocal training derives from the Laboratory exercises of Jerzy Grotowski and also incorporates theories and applications of Stanislavki, Eugenio Barba, Ingmar Linde, Eastern performance traditions, vaudeville, yoga, dance.
As a citizen of Planet Earth i support Progressive politics and freedom for all people and species.
I say FTW and challenge, undermine, subvert and intend to change the dominant paradigm through my art/work and my existence--don't mean to come off as pretentious but it's true!
