I work with Global 500,000—unique, visionary businesses that are using the Web to deliver world-class services to clients around the world. My job is to simplify their infrastructure with hardware that can be customized with any variety of computing
I was born on May 25, 1977—an insignificant date really, save for the fact that the first entry in The Holy Trilogy also made its debut that day.
I think it’s more than mere coincidence that both Star Wars and me were released on the same day, given my chosen profession as a consultant who solves the business challenges of “Fortune 500,000” companies using forward looking technology. In addition to revolutionizing the art of filmmaking using technology, Star Wars also championed the cause of the underdog or “the little guy”—which, in the case of my profession, means smaller, cutting-edge businesses with a grand, cutting-edge vision. You know the type of business I’m talking about: there’s a sense of “coolness” hanging in the air, and you just know that the people who work there are on the verge of revolutionizing their industry. I prefer working with smaller businesses like this over larger corporations because you feel like you’re taking the world by storm together, all while perched atop a Web 2.0 platform. It’s nothing short of electric.
(As an aside, this is where the nickname “Shorty” comes from—my preference for working with the so-called “little guy.” And to be honest with you, when you’re given a nickname that reflects your passion, then I think you have truly arrived.)
