Shosha (pronounced like "sasha") was born and raised in a small town in South Carolina, which she traded for a slightly larger one at the age of 16 to attend a public boarding school for science and math. She didn't end up learning excessive amounts of math, but she did start her first band with her calculus teacher on drums. She has since wandered far from her roots, living in various US cities and foreign countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, England, and Argentina.
Shosha's upcoming album - her first full length solo recording - was recorded both in Charleston, SC, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and exhibits a broader musical range than her previous work. While Shosha's music is best categorized as part of the recent folk revival in indie pop, her experimental structures and vivid lyrical imagery have also drawn comparisons outside of the musical realm to modernist poets such as e.e. cummings and William Carlos Williams.
Shosha lives, works, and schools in Davis, California, where she is also a member of the new indie/folk band Color of Love, who just released their debut "Camphor Songs," now available from iTunes, etc.
Although she eventually plans to return to the Southeastern US, Shosha will be based in the Sacramento area for at least year or so, depending on how things go. She likes the cherry trees and misses the thunder.
Thanks for making me miss my mohawk even more than I already did. Actually there have been some rumors going around that it might make a comeback in the not so distant future. I'll keep you posted.
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that we haven't stopped listening to the music since we've been off tour and pretty sure we plan on listening to it right on through to the next one. Hope life is just as well for you as it is for us.
Hey Guys! Just wanted to stop in and see how your doing? Anything
exciting coming up? We're just getting bored in the studio. lol. Well
hope to hear from you soon.
I really miss my Davis friend though. I was planning to call you today and just never got around to it. I hope all is well with you. We need to hang out again soon. Let me know when is good for you. Maybe hit up the bird sanctuary?
Yeah! It scares me too, but to some extend, my detractor is right : it's again the men in suits who suddenly start telling us what to do against it, whereas we could have felt it coming for decades! I think, the guy especially criticizes the hypocrit approach of the problem by those "men in suits". Thanks for your comment, by the way! Blessings.
thank you so much for checkin em out. "california" is a new single from my latest album. you can get it on itunes if u want to! take care and stop by anytime :)
